There is nothing quite like
Being a body in the water
Slippery and sliding all through
The water
That suddenly feels like air
Hair all waving around you like seaweed
Toes into the squishy bottom
Murky greenness
Of the lake that has suddenly become
The membrane that surrounds your body
You body that is usually so cooped up
In clothes
In shoes
In life
But by yourself in the water
You slide around in the liquid wind
Suddenly you are flying
Your body does not exist, only you
Just you, in the water
While everything sinks
You swim
