Healing in Five Stages

1) A grave dug in the ground
An overflowing morgue
Thou, thee, you
Everything
It sounds like all the world is crying tonight
Desperate, wracking sobs
So this is heartbreak.

2) A slow walk home,
Reaching out for a hand
Touching only air and memories
No, this cannot be true
It is a dream
I will wake up

3) I still haven't woken up yet
From this nightmare
So it must be true
God, I don't think I can live
Something is strangling me
Myself?
Where am I?

4) I think I have found myself
In a deep, dark pit
It all feels so long ago
That the world ended tonight
Only a whisper stirs the wind
Only my heart seems to break
Again,
It's all happening again.

5) The sun- is that the sun?
Shining down my hair
What is this?
Am I laughing again?
I am.
I think I'm healing.
Or have I already healed?
I think I have.
