Her skin burned. It felt like she was on fire. So much pain. It was the only feeling then everything stopped. She tried to sit up but her body felt heavy. There was a weight over her. She opened her eyes only to find a strange combination of silver, black, blue hair covering her face. The heat she had felt was that of a body over hers. She couldn't recall the events of the previous night but it wasn't too difficult to make the connection when a naked body was over her own nude form. He smiled as he realized she was finally awake. He had been for a few hours now just lying over her. She tried again to push him away but she couldn't move an inch.

"What's wrong?" His black eyes locked on hers and she tried not to cry. She couldn't believe what reflected from them. She could see anger. She could see his plans to kill Cullivan clearly. He was going to keep her as a concubine and kill the only person she ever truly loved. He smirked knowing her every thought with the connection he had established with her the previous night. He kissed her lips tenderly not even flinching when she slapped him. He jumped away when the sapphire in her stomach began to burn him. So the angels were displeased with his treatment of her. Like they really cared about a human. She scrambled away from him grabbing a robe on her way out the door. He laughed so hard his eyes began to tear.

"No matter where you go, no matter how far you run I'll be there." She shuddered as his voice echoed in her head. He wasn't chasing her but she could still feel his presence. She tripped over something falling flat on her face and almost breaking her nose. She stood up to wipe the blood away from her cut cheek and inspect what had caused her fall. She covered her mouth as she felt bile coming up. It was horrible. Bodies upon bodies. There had been a battle here very recent by the blood still spilling from mutilated bodies. She noticed now the reason the soil felt so moist it was sucking up all the blood. She couldn't control it anymore and hunched over emptying out her system.

"Help." It was a weak voice tinged with pain but evidently female. She stood quickly and rushed to look for the source. A hand gripped the bottom of her robe stopping her. She looked down at the dirt and blood stained face of a boy no older than five. She dropped to her knees and pulled him onto her lap.

"My Mama she is calling out but I can't find her. Her voice it stopped." He pulled himself to a sitting position holding onto her arms. His deep blue eyes seemed to be focusing on something in the distance then he buried his face in her robe. He was crying. She ran her fingers through his ear length blue hair trying to calm him. He was so small she wondered if her first calculation about his age was correct. He looked to small and fragile to be five maybe younger. As she embraced him she noticed the small wings folded over his back. That's the reason for his small size an angel child was considerably smaller than a human child Cullivan had told her that once though she didn't believe it seeing as every angel she had met was rather well built, a little thin but still tall and strong. He sat back to look up at her wiping tears away with his fists.

"What happened here?"

"Both worlds hate us for we are not like any of them."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm a demon. Well only half my Mama was human. She was married to a strong demon he sent us here for protection but they killed him. They came after us. The entire village and I.. I . I killed them!" She was taken aback by this. A sweet little child being the one to decimate this entire village.

"How?"

"I don't know."

"What's your name?"

"I can't remember."

"Then how do you know what happened here?"

"I don't."

"But you just told me you did."

"I can't remember. Please Mama let's go I'm scared." She only sat there shocked as he embraced her.

"I'm not your Mama. My name is Shawnie."

"What's wrong? Don't you love me Mama?" She felt like she was being tested one weird tragedy after another. Could she survive all this? With an exasperated sigh she gave in to the poor demon boy hugging him to her as she picked him up.

"It's okay. Nascent let's just go." He sighed happily and fell asleep in her arms.
He slapped the little pool of water with a curse. The little fool had forgotten everything he told him. More like backstabbed him. He knew the little demon would be persuaded by the comforting aura that seemed to surround Shawnie. It was what made him want to run to her arms every passing moment.

"Master Cullivan is something wrong?" His jade eyes locked onto the now blonde servant. She looked like a child with her hair in two Chinese buns the purple laces that held them falling over her shoulders.

"Nothing. Bring me Chikako." The girl bowed and stepped out of the room to find the mentioned person. She returned with a cloaked figure.

"You called for me Master." He stepped to the bowed figure pulling her to her feet. He pushed off her cloak revealing pale skin, silver hair and gray eyes. She would've put her cloak back on but it was disrespectful to the Master and she didn't want to be on his bad side.

"Kaede you are dismissed." She bowed and exited.

"I see." He hadn't needed to speak what her task would be for her perception was so heightened that she knew with only one touch from him. He nodded his head and she picked up her cloak. She adjusted her cloak as she jumped out the window.

"This time he'll pay."
"Stop being so fidgety."

"But it itches."

"You have to look nice. Nascent you're clothes are too dirty we won't be able to pass for nobles if you wear those rags." Shawnie crossed her arms over her chest and closed her eyes knowing he was using that adorable sad puppy look that always made her give in.

"All right." She finished dressing him in the little tux then fixed her red gown. She put a hand out to him.

"Let's go my Prince." He smiled as he put his small hand in hers. In the shadows someone watched them with sad eyes. How she wished she could be that happy but happiness was an illusion was it not? She sighed justifying what she had to do with that theory. Nascent stopped suddenly making Shawnie stop. She looked down at him curiously.
