The warm blazing fire sent heat through her body,

The flames were intense,

Blasting out warmth in time with the raindrops,

That came tumbling down,

She was lost in her thoughts completely,

Stroking the cat that lay in her lap,

It purred gently, so softly and sweet,

Easing her frown,

The rain hit the window live a thousand knives,

She was safe inside,

Safe from the worries and troubles she had,

Shut out the sound,

She heard the laughter of children in the rain,

She listened intently,

Picturing their delighted faces, blissful and gay,

Image of the crowd,

For images were all she had to remember,

She was starting to forget,

She only feels, hears, smells, tastes,

For she is blind.
