Sing to me my darling,
Imagined ideal lover,
Strong and caring.
Beauty and gentleness are you,
And you enfold me in your arms.

You love me.
I drown in your love.
It overwhelms me, I cannot breathe.
I want to die in your arms,
As your gentle hand carresses my hair.

You slip away when I arise.
You are as real as the wind,
And I cry for loss of you.
You try to comfort me, but you are not there
And all the promises and protestations
Of Love and Protection
Are as empty as my distant dreams
