The Sky was clear, and there was no sign of any clouds to be seen in the deep blue coverage, a light breeze filled the dry summer air, as darkness began to set in on what had been a long summers day. A young girl of about ten years of age was sat at the end of a pile of rocks that struck out into the cool blue waters of the Almayic Ocean. The girl's legs were hung over the edge of the rock, dragging her soles with the water, and it's soft motion. It crashed against the small build up of the rock, the small waves parted as they hit the same area that jutted out into the Ocean, and split, sometimes dying off calmly, the foam covering the rocks as it launched up against the pebbled beach, as other times the waters found the gaps and cracks in the irregular shaping that made the platform.
The young female was not alone, a small cat-like animal, with hazy bluish grey colourings slinked out onto the short pier, and quickly hopped into her lap, it's tail waved as the breeze pushed past it, and they both remained silent as a heavy, dusky sun sank in behind the clear line of the horizon. When darkness of a secondary kind engulfed them, the cat's eyes lifted to meet those of the girl's her eyes were deep, yet they shone in the reflection of the moon. A Soft purr emitted from the throat of the feline, breaking the well kept silence. The voice that followed was not harsh, surprisingly, as the girl hadn't spoken for the best part of four hours, it was, slight, soft, and gentle.
" Reaya? How far are we from home? " She queried The creature in her lap leant up, pushing slender paws against the girl's legs, now crossed on the rough granite rock.
" I do not know, but.. Do you really think we will make it to Meladio? " The male cat spoke with a high air of human tone, not purring it's words as would be expected of such a creature, even more unusual, was an animal of such speaking at all, but the girl saw this all naturally.
" Do you have no confidence in me at all Reaya? " She replied softly, with questioning in her voice.
In answer to her, the cat shuffled up into a slight ball in the girl's lap,
who smiled sweetly at him, her untouched lips were soft and delicate, and
the smile unwittingly lifted her expression and her mood. The girl lowered
her head, kissing that of the cat's whose response was a quick mew before
it nestled back against her leg.
The girl remained there, her eyes fluttering to close as she rubbed
the cat's head with a gentle hand, she leaned back onto some of the rock
and her eyes closed completely, she rested and fell into a half-slumber,
her thoughts were of the powerful King Auchettz her Father, who was up in
one of the tall towers of his castle, in Onellei, his kingdom, where the
sun was yet to set.
The man looked roughly about twenty years of age, although he had been alive for the best part of thirty-eight years. At this moment in time he was staring down at a large red stone, which was propped up to just the right height, coming to his waist. The stone was perched on a small pillar, with a marble base, the pillar itself made of marble too, the stone was nestled between four small prongs that fitted to the stone perfectly keeping it secure, the stone was at usually a deep red, but as the king looked down on it, he saw the scene with his daughter, and this reflection remained clear, until he spoke out, at which point the scene disappeared, a blue smoke appearing under the red of the stone.
" Shaika, what will I do? She is out there. on her own in Almaya, with no company but Reaya. He won't keep her warm, get her foo.. "
He was interrupted by another cat-like figure, much like the young girl's, although it was much larger, almost like a tiger. It was more developed than that of the girl's feline. Shaika looked up at the king, and shook her head slowly, taking in his posture as the man turned to face her idly.
" Haeila will come home, she knows the way, it has been stamped into her heart, and she will follow that path, "
Her voice as much softer than that of Reaya's for the obvious detail that they were of opposite gender, she continued,
" And besides, she is strong willed, almost a carbon copy of yourself Andrei, although that is a big almost. "
The King laughed, and knelt by the tiger holding it's silvery head in his hands, Andrei's eyes were soft and angelic, just like Haeila's bright blue ones, as he stared into those of the nearly omniscient Shaika, who sat back onto her hind legs, staring back softly and unblinkingly to Andrei.
" You never cease to amaze me with your kind words. Thank you for your support, you know it means a lot to me. "
Shaika's eyes closed as she purred lightly, Andrei's hands cupping her head firmly, though not to any extent to hurt his friend, for it was obvious of the friendship and trust they held in each other, a strong willed bond between the two of them. Her silky coat glimmered, even in the dim light of the sun that filled the room. Andrei slowly stood to his feet, sighing as he made his way to his desk at the top end of the room, it was obviously a study of some kind, rows and rows of books lined the walls, the Red Stone placated in the middle of the large modern looking room, he sat down in his chair, and sighed.
" I worry too much. if it weren't for you Shaika, I think I would be out there now, then she would never complete her quest. " he sighed again and tilted his head away, staring at the desk he was sat behind, his thoughts were obviously deep and intricate. His gaze lifted slightly to the tiger, who was now laid down in the far corner of the room, curled up in a ball as Reaya was, only larger, Andrei shook his head slowly, speaking to himself now as he thought about the things that had been going on lately.
" Why did I let her go? She's barely ten years old. Alorae would kill me if she knew. She probably does, if you're listening to me Alorae. I did this for her...I had to let her go. We knew she would have to go sometime in this life. It was her Fate, but, why so young? " He let out a heavy sigh, painful memories of his wife filling his head, he closed his eyes, a slight tear slipping down his cheek slowly as he leaned his head forward to rest on the table, his arms folded around his head. The family of four slept through the long warm night, they dreamed of each other, that was usually all that dreams consisted of, family and close friends.
