My Valentine
This is to my girlfriend of seven months and my best friend of two years, Mel P. Honey, I adore you more then I thought I could of anyone other then a char out of my own stories. You know I love you…and I tried to think of a good Valentine gift. Nothing could actually be…me to you, so I’m doing what I do best: Write. So this is for you, babydoll.
This is supposed to be a love poem;
This is supposed to tell you how much I feel.
To tell you how dear I hold us to.
Or how highly I think of you.
I guess this thing should rhyme,
Seeing as how it’s what a poem should be.
But I already know you’ve known all that,
And I know you accept me for me.
The faeries can dance around our non-formed graces,
I could prance around as if deranged.
We could just make off little noises
Until the walls caved into our voices
I was going to write a mushy poem
Full of odds and ends,
With matching words and little bobs.
Telling you with flashy things,
Like candy, bears and gold diamond rings.
But I’m just a simple little Irish girl,
A normal mewling kitten who
Just happens to have a flair
For telling someone so dear and so true
That, itooshi, I love you.
Happy Valentines Day, Mel.
Thank you for saying yes when I asked.
