Twilight Sky
By Lady E
Author's Notes: A happy little piece. This was written at a middle school poetry club (yes, we actually had one). I joined even though I can't write poetry for my life, and this piece is perhaps one of the only decent ones that came of my attempts.
Twilight sky -
night crawls in
The pale Moon never gleams alone.
Her children frolic around her
playing their peeping game
Peep-in, peep-out, peep-in, peep-out.
The darkness falls completely,
but not absolutely.
The family in the sky pay the night no heed.
It wasn't theirs to know.
The Stars,
they know only to play
with their mother, the Moon
Peep-in, peep-out, peep-in, peep-out.
