This poem is dedicated to anyone and everyone who has
ever been rejected, whether it be by peers, adults,
strangers, or any other type of being. Remember,
we all are special in one way or the other (except maybe me),
and any one who teases you needs to take a good look at themselves,
because they are worthless.

"Loneliness"

Many people have said they are lonely
But most have never experienced it before
I have, however, though I'm not very homely
And I'll tell you about it and maybe later some more

Loneliness is where you are tortured and teased
Outcasted, rejected, not fit to be seen
When people hurt you as much as they please
And when you realize life has no guaranties

Being lonely is when you are not liked by others
Longing for friends, begging for brothers
Forever wanting attention from mothers
Yet knowing these wishes will not happen

People are too preoccupied with their own problems,
they say they're too busy
Just being treated this way makes even me dizzy
And some lonely people fall into deep depression
And sadly enough they are scolded so harshly they dare
not make a confession

Loneliness will last forever, though it is very rare
Those of us with wishes of self-destruction really need some care
Because every moment of our life is becoming a cruel dare
And this worthless feeling is turning people's lives into a scare

I'm am getting tired of typing, so let me conclude
Do not be discouraged if you live in solitude
Or if people say you have a melancholy mood
Or even if you find comfort in food
As long as you keep the right attitude
and hold your head up high Dionna T. Connell
