Under the Moon
IceAngelDarkMoon
The moon sits high in the night sky,
Like a Goddess presiding over her domain,
She smiles at her sleeping world,
Regal and majestic she protects the slumber,
She protects the dreams of all under her gaze.
But her favorites do not sleep,
They are the druids and fantastical creatures,
The ones who dance for her.
They stay with her from beginning to end,
All during her watch they delight her,
In the grassy meadows they meet at dusk.
As the world around them falls to sleep,
They start to beat their drums to their own beat,
Never has one night been the same as another.
They start slow and majestic,
Mimicking the moon herself and she is pleased.
But then the beat starts to soar,
Like a phoenix from the ash.
It becomes wild and pure,
They dance as their hearts direct them,
One goal is in mind, to gain the love of the moon.
The fairies beat their wings,
And spread their glitter upon the party,
The pixies dance with everyone,
For once their mischief forgotten.
The elves stay majestic but they too dance freely.
The monster no longer cower from the light,
They seem to grow and change to become less scary,
They become graceful and breathtaking.
The half human creatures are no longer ashamed,
The animals in them are in charge now.
Seelie and Unseelie alike are free in the glory.
They hear only the drum with the beat,
And see only the moon above.
But come the first ray of mourn and they disappear,
Nothing can be seen,
But the moon smiling as she travels away.
