Chapter Five
“How‘s the assignment coming?” Jayden walked into her den that night, after Kyle had driven her home. “Whoa! What happened to you?” He stared at her stained clothes and her dirty hair, while she was sitting down in front of a mirror, brushing her hair.
Aaliyah told Kyle to stop at a local home, about a half a mile away from her den, and when he did, she walked to the back door of the hose and hid in the doorway until she heard his car drive away. After, she made sure he was gone and walked towards the woods.
“Long story, and yes it‘s going just fine,” Aaliyah said irritably.
“Well, you may not have to get rid of him after all,” Jayden sat down on the chair in front of the television.
“What do you mean?” Aaliyah suddenly became alert. She didn’t know how to describe her feelings but she actually likes Detective Wheatley.
“We might be moving tomorrow night. I‘m getting a bad feeling about this place,” Jayden said.
“A bad feeling? That‘s it! We‘re leaving our home because YOU HAVE A BAD FEELING?” Aaliyah stood up angrily so fast that she knocked the chair she was sitting on down.
Jayden also stood up angrily, facing her. “Don‘t raise your voice to me! I‘m in charge here!” He spat out angrily.
Aaliyah instantly quieted, picked the fallen chair up, and sat back down. “I‘m sorry,” she said quietly, “that was out of line.”
Jayden stared silently at her for a second. “This isn’t good. You like him.” He said it more as a statement instead of a question.
“Like him, Like him. No. But he is a good guy and I think I’m getting closer to him by the day. Come on, two weeks and I swear I can get him!” Aaliyah pleaded him.
Jayden looked unconvinced.
“Oh come on, please! How about just one week then? One week! Please? I know I can finish him off by then!” Aaliyah begged him.
Jayden sighed. “Fine. One week, that‘s it though. No longer.”
Aaliyah jumped up and hugged him. “Thank you! I have to go now and tell daddy!” she ran out of the room.
And she didn’t hear Jayden say to himself, “I hope all of us won’t regret this.”
A/N: Hey, again. I changed the category of this story because I got only one review last chapter! ::sniff:: So instead of Fantasy/ Romance I think I’m going to keep it to Romance/General. And maybe…hopefully…get some feedback! Sorry this chapter was so uneventful but it’s going to get better soon. Hmm… only a week left… could get good lol. And if you sign in then I’ll thank you every chapter if you review, but I haven’t been doing it the last few because most of the reviews I’ve gotten have been anonymous. So leave one and I’ll thank ya cuz I really like reviews! *TAB* {.X.} Jasmyne {.X.}
