**Like I did with Chapter Two, I'll post what I have so far of Chapter Three and add on the rest of it when I finish. This part of Chapter Three is long as it is, but still, hoping to make it longer with the last part of it. The last part really ties up Part One of Battle 2043, (there are 4 parts I'm planning) and has more of a cliffhanger. It's so much more interesting with the end, but oh well, LIVE WITH IT PEOPLE! AT LEAST YOU GET THIS PART EARLIER *COUGH COUGH* GRAHAM!! *COUGH COUGH* But anyway, I better end my ranting.**

**Enjoy the chapter!**

It had been nearly two hours that Mia had been sleeping in her captors clutches, but to her it seemed like it had been days. Her body was placed on her side with her head against the hard cold ground. That was all she could feel in the beginning: no comfort with her head simply lying there as if there were a pillow supporting her. Her hands moved from side to side, feeling the smooth and chillingly cold floor to get more of an idea what kind surrounding she was in. Flickering her eyelids opened, gradually and cautiously, she found herself exhausted to even finish such a simple involuntary task such as opening her eyes. She could barely believe how weak a state she was in, and it terrified her to think she was completely helpless to her kidnappers.

The pain hit her hard in the front of her chest, which she clutched gently with her hands. Her coordination seemed to retard with every small movement made. The burning sensation torment her skin and her sense knowing that there was nothing in her power to soothe it, or do anything about the situation itself. At Tavri, Mia had been trained to react in every possible scenario, but nothing in her training had prepared her for this. Tavri officers weren't expected to be kidnapped by extra- terrestrials everyday.

Tavri. what would they say if they had a good look at her now? Most likely, most would be pleased with her pain and humiliation, considering her customary erectness. It would certainly be a mortifying feeling to have everyone staring at her with the taunting jeers deafening her ears. She could picture Admiral Torre Lansky standing over her with his heckling spirited eyes and his hisses coming behind her like from the tongue of a snake itself. Most of all, what if Mitch saw her like this? What entertainment this pitiful sight could provide for the conceited general of Tavri.

She took a good look around the room while still laying down. There was not much she could see anyway, even with good peripheral vision, except for what was in front of her, and a little to each side. But she established a fact straight away: everything was white. Moving her head as far as she could from side to side, everywhere she stole a look, was white. The floor, the ceiling, and the walls were all blankets of untainted shade. It was awkward to be held in such a strange surrounding, but then again, anything from this point shouldn't seem that strange.

Sitting up, she got to see the whole room for herself. There wasn't much to see anyway, even afterwards. The room was at least 30 feet across in length and width, making it a perfect square. A long window stretched across the wall to the side where she could see a hallway on the other side. Right beside the window on the left, a door with no handles which of made of some silver metal stood waiting for inhabitants to step through its mouth.

The window seemed like the best possible way of escape so Mia decided to take it and make the best of it. Pressing her palms firmly against the floor, she struggled to lift herself up with her unsteady arms and planted her feet to the ground. Gradually rising, she stood up at a final rate that would have shamed the military academy she attended. Knowing that she wasn't capable of running to her full speed yet, she trudged with small strides to the window.

All the energy she had conserved would know go into this one action now: though the window was not above her leg span, she would not have enough power to break through and shatter the window. She had to use her fist and punch straight away as hard as the muscles in her arms would allow her to. Taking a deep breath she wound up her arm behind her and punched through-

Without the window shattering.

Horror stricken when she watched her arm in the middle of the giant blob that captured it, she wriggled to the left and right, trying to pull her arm out. Indeed, this was no ordinary window and this was most definitely /not/ glass. The transparency of the window had dissolved into a silver opaqueness that glimmered with the lights that hung lifelessly from the corners of the room. All of a sudden, the window began to /grow/l. She saw the liquid substance around her arm transform into what looked like pairs of razor sharp teeth. Frantically, she pulled harder and harder each time, with such efforts pumped with great amounts of adrenaline. With her concentration fully on her arm and the window, she paid no attention to the sound of the door sliding open and the figure stepping through the doorway.

"I see you've made your first attempt to escape. Don't worry; you're not the first to fall for the Mishea Window. I designed it to be deceiving and frustrating," an egotistical voice mused behind her.

Mia groaned and she immediately stopped wasting her efforts. Turning her head, she looked to the new annoying figure who entered her life-but had much difficulty holding back a gasp.

She already established the fact that she had been abducted by aliens, as bizarre and science fictional as it sounded, but she had to face the truth so she decided to submit. However, she was flabbergasted by the resemblance this alien had to the ones in her dreams that she had every night. The green skinned alien wore a black tunic, a torn crimson cape that draped his shoulders, with a gray belt around his waist. His gray belt held some items and accessories of importance that caught Mia's eyes like a small silver pistol and another strange looking black gun that was bigger than the pistol. That was on one side of his waist and on the other long silver deathly looking saber hung proudly. She licked her lips and flexed her fingers, which were just itching to get a grasp on any of that weaponry.

"I could keep you in there forever, but it wouldn't be the Prince's wishes," he sighed, with hinted sarcasm and he walked over towards the struggling captain and pulled out something from the back of his belt. She watched a light brown handle come and she winced, drawing back in fear of a knife. He slowly drew out-

A pipe. A small musical pipe.

Mia stared at him as he put the pipe to his mouth and played a small and sweet melody. She felt the liquid around her that had firmly held her arm release slowly while the window continued to snarl and growl at her. Stepping away from the window quickly and anxiously, she looked back to the alien who stood near her.

"Music tames the savage beast," he shrugged as he placed the pipe in the back of his belt. "It's fortunate that the Prince introduced such a concept as music, or I might not have been half as successful as I am now, though even without it, I'd be more superior than anyone else here."

"Many words from someone like you," she grumbled gruffly.

"Not even a "thank you"? You humans have no manners," he sighed, shaking his head.

Immediately, she didn't like this alien, whether he'd saved her or not. "I'm not polite to those who are not deserving."

"Deserving of inferiority? All right, I won't bother you. I shouldn't expect etiquette from you, considering that we're all superior to the likes of you," his red eyes glistened.

Her eyes glimmered with annoyance. "I guess the biggest part of your kidnappings is annoying the hostage? You do your job well but I guess you're not good for anything else," she snickered.

It was his turn for his eyes to flare with exasperation. "Actually, I'm here to do a status report on the hostage, meaning you. It's the first time in many years we've had an Earthling here, and we wanted to make sure that the conditions we provided were suitable and survivable for a human," he sneered in recrimination. "I'm the only one who's intelligent enough to actually analyze and handle an Earthling, because mostly everyone else is incompetent."

"Oh dear me, I'm in the presence of an executive! I should have shown more respect! Forgive me for not kissing the ground in which you stand upon. God of the White Room, I praise you!" She exclaimed sarcastically.

"That's a bit better," he grinned, crossing his arms.

She stepped up to him and with one swift movement, she swung her arm and grasped his neck gently. He was a bit taller than her, but not tall enough so she couldn't look him the eye. "Listen, I really don't have time for this. Whatever you aliens want, we won't provide for it, so you're just wasting time with any scheming you might have had. Let me get out of this room, and lead me to a ship that can get me to Tavri, and I promise that you won't get hurt," she muttered, gritting her teeth at him.

"Ah yes, me, the head captain, is going to let /you/, a hostage go home," he smirked. "Of course, dear, here, would you like me to get you a snack along with that?"

Shoving him with her shoulder, she tackled him to the ground. She was surprised to find that he was extremely weak, and she had overestimated him greatly. Sending one punch straight into his stomach with very little effort at all, she watched as he crumpled in pain, and tried to hide it. Grinning, she thought she had him-she /thought/.

His feet kicked up to her stomach, and even though he wasn't very strong, she was forcefully tossed against the back wall. Clenching her fist, with sweat running down the side of her face, she ran up to him, throwing everything she had at him. But she was still tired from her recent shot against her chest and was weak from his kick, that his speed was too superior. With one simple punch at her shoulder, she crimped to the ground. Whimpering in pain, she did not bother to try to get back up and fight back. The expression on his face was blank, but she could see it in his eyes that he was holding back a scream of apology. However, he turned around with his cape flying behind him and walked out the door, leaving her to the hell of the white room.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

It was not more than an hour later, as she still lay on the floor when she saw two beings stepping up at the window. They both had green skin, like the one who entered before. The one at the right had very wide and round glimmering purple eyes. Two antennas that were very tall sat on his head that were a jet-black color. He had no nose or ears, but other than that, he had complete human form, and would have been almost identical to the alien who she met earlier except for his clothes, eyes, and expression. A violet cape bordered with gold decorated the shoulders of this alien with a gold chain around his waist for a belt. His tunic was green encrusted with designs that gleamed with his black gloves and pants. His eyes held a cold dignity that was similar to Torre's "kind" look and he held himself in a high and erect posture.

He was motioning with his hands, talking in a language that she clearly understood; it wasn't English, but she remembered studying it with her father. He told her over and over, she would become a language expert so she could communicate with anyone she wished when she needed to. She remembered how complex this language at been, but she mastered it long ago, so it was second nature to her. But why were /they/ speaking it? Her father never told her the name of this language, but she had assumed it had been at least /human/ it human language?

The other alien who stood at the left was a little different though. He had bright scarlet eyes, but they were smaller than the other alien's wider eyes. His antennae were shorter, though they were still black, and he two small ears on each side of his head. He was much taller than his companion and wore more majestic looking clothing. His cape was encrusted with silver lining and bordered with splendid gold designs. Its magnificent black gleam matched the gleam of the gold chain that held his cape around his neck. It was obvious he must have been royalty, because gold seemed to blanket him with splendor and his belt was engraved with picturesque writing while bright gems implanted to flourish its beauty. His ruby colored tunic was perfected with silver lining and diamond buttons. Even to a human who was unaware of their style of dress, she was impressed.

"She's sleeping now, but I want the chemicals immediately," the majestic Tall One ordered in the strange language.

"Do we really need to use the Paralysis Gas on her? First of all, she is just a human and second of all, she's female!" The other commented.

"We cannot underestimate a human, remember the incident on the Tavri Islands?" The Tall One remarked. "Plus, don't you remember Captain Satsuki's original data and his status report on this one?"

"What would you expect from him?" he snickered with abhorrence. "That weakling Satsuki has no right to be head captain if he can't handle one simple human."

"Captain Satsuki has proved his worth in many other ways and if I'm not mistaken, he /did/ handle that Earthling," the Tall One rebuked. " Humans are a lot stronger than we think, and especially since this one has been in the military for a while. I want the vents to be opened now, and the gases to be released stat."

"If you really think it's necessary," he shrugged.

"I do."

He shrugged again and walked away to where Mia could no longer see him. She heard the bleeping and blipping of buttons, however, and she knew that there was no time to waste. Mia reached to the side of her belt for her gun, but indeed, it was not there, and neither was any other device that she kept there. She swore silently and knew that she had to take action right away unless she wanted to paralyzed and become a sitting duck for these aliens. Well obviously they would have taken her weapons; any sensible kidnapper would make sure of it. Having no weapons, and no way of escape, there was not much she could do but prevent herself from inhaling the gases.

She reached to the side of her glasses and pressed a tiny button and a small mask for her nose and mouth popped out from the side of her glasses and covered her face. These kinds of mechanical and gadget filled glasses were standard at Tavri, and it was convenient for her because she needed glasses anyway. Facing towards the wall so no one could see she was wearing the mask, she lay down, pretending to be asleep. Her breath quickened as she nervously watched the green chemical paralyzing gases surround her and clog up her vision. She closed her eyes, and waited.

These fifteen minutes seemed like the longest moments of her life. She lay lifelessly still, knowing that one false movement could attract her kidnappers' attention and mess things up even more. Even with her oxygen mask on, she was too afraid to breathe in fear that she would inhale the gas. However, she did release her breath because she knew that she couldn't let herself pass out because the lack of oxygen. All of a sudden, the vents that released the gasses on top of the ceiling began sucking up the gases. The gas was clearing up in the room and she waited another five before she took off the mask. She knew she was taking a huge risk not waiting longer for the chemicals to clear, but she was extremely anxious to make sure that they didn't take her glasses like they took her weapon. Besides taking away some of her gadgets, her seeing would be off without them.

The Tall One opened the door and he walked in first, the other followed. She halted her breathing, but decided to breathe naturally so they wouldn't get suspicious. They neared her, one at each side of her, while the Tall One started circling her after a minute, using his foot to turn her over, or move her around gently.

"She doesn't seem that dangerous," the Tall One mused, observing her. "Well done, Commander, your plan has worked out perfectly. We're one step closer to victory with our Earthling hostage." The Tall One immediately congratulated the other with a defiant smirk. Already, she did not like him at the first glance, and she disliked him even more than the other ego that'd entered her white hell earlier.

Mia alerted herself immediately and sat up and tried not to show any signs of fear. The two aliens were extremely surprised that she sat up before their eyes, and the Tall One began to question the Paralysis Gas in his mind, and wondered if it actually worked on her, or if she was just extremely strong.

"The rest is easy down hill." the Tall One grinned menacingly, and continued talking in his language. "She won't be able to handle the extortion and we'll rip her heart piece by piece."

That comment was a challenge and issued his death warrant. He didn't know that she could understand every venomous word that spat out of his mouth. She jumped to her feet and started strangling the surprised Tall One. Fearfully, he tried to lift her fingers off his neck and push her away, as her grip only tightened around neck. His strength was superior to any other person on the ship, but what about this human girl?

But Mia immediately fell to ground powerless as she felt a sharp and long needle pierce the side of her neck. As the liquid rushed through her bloodstream, she felt jolts of electricity pierce her senses and stun her movements. The pain was unimaginable to anything she would have ever expected and it was unbearable to hold herself up. She hit her head against the wall, and groaned, feeling miserable. She saw the other alien holding a gun with liquid at in vial with a long, long needle at the end of it. He walked up over to her and grasped her neck with his hands and pinned her against the wall.

"Let that be a lesson to you to respect royalty," he sneered nastily in English as his grip tightened.

"Xav, go easy on her," the Tall One ordered with hints of sympathy inflected in his voice.

He released his grip on her and let her drop to the floor. "Sir, are you all right from her sudden /attack/?" He said to the Tall One in the same language as they spoke before.

"I'm perfectly all right, but to more important matters, we must consider the state of our hostage," The Tall One nodded but he immediately walked over towards Mia. "You take great risks in attempting to harm me, Human." He said calmly in crisp English.

"But that's why I got accepted into Tavri; for being rash and reckless," she smirked, leaning against the wall.

"Gambling your life isn't very wise."

"Whoever said I was wise? And it's not like soldiers don't gamble their life; that's the whole point of being a soldier," she cockily explained, tossing her nose into the air.

The Tall One rubbed his chin with his two fingers. "What's your name, Human?" he questioned.

"Confidential." Mia replied firmly, panting between syllables. It was hard for her to get used to being so helpless for once. She found that she had to get used to this feeling, because it had happened often in the last few hours. She sent them a chilling glare, just to deal with her partially bruised ego.

"See!" The other alien, who she assumed as "Xav", scowled in the strange language. "Glytrez, she's a girl! We won't get information from her."

"Now Xav," the Tall One, "Glytrez", as he was called, began. "This should actually be easier. She's a girl. These female humans are known to be vulnerable to giving up and giving in quite easily."

"Glytrez?" Mia snapped to the Tall One. "Do you know what the word, "sexist" means?" She faced Glytrez and spoke in the language.

Glytrez's jaw dropped: one was because of the rudeness that was pointed at him for once, and the fact that she spoke to him in his language was probably another reason. "You-you understand the Drezen language?"

"If that's what it's called, yeah. Speak it, understand it, read it, as any other human language on the entire Earth; I'm the language expert on Tavri," she boasted.

"How did you learn it?" Xav demanded. He did not like this girl's attitude, as it was similar to Captain I-Know-Everything-And-You-Don't Satsuki's attitude.

"Confidential." She glared. "Maybe if you didn't stab me with that needle of yours, I might have-"

"Let's just get down to business." Glytrez hurried, wanting to get down wit the real intention of being down here. "Your life is at stake-"

"That would probably be why I'm a hostage," Mia interrupted, rolling her eyes.

"You are in no position to interrupt me, Human," Glytrez glowered.

"Oh? So why have you let me interrupt over and over again?"

Annoyed, he ignored her and continued on. "Human, let me repeat this and I'll give you one more chance to hold your tongue. Your life is at stake, yours and many others on your puny little planet. You see, your planet is no challenge and we'll have no trouble taking over in a matter of days."

"Yeah right," Mia snorted with laughter. "That's why you got a hostage, right?"

He lowered his eyes at her, but he decided not to answer to any of her retorts. "But there is a time issue, and as you know, any conqueror would prefer that the job would be done quicker. After observing this planet, the Tavri Military is the only military that would be able to somewhat hold off our armies and armada-momentarily. The Tavri's assistance to our forces would mean the invasion would go more smoothly and-less lives will be taken."

"Are you saying.I betray Earth, convince Tavri to join you, and give you all the military secrets and trash you want?"

"Basically."

"And in that, there will be a peaceful power transfer with less destruction?"

Glytrez nodded, trying to hold back a grin. This was extremely easy, and they were just moments away from hearing exactly what they wanted to hear.

"No."

Her answer hit him hard and smashed against his chest. He stared into her cold eyes with strong barriers holding up in her irises. In disbelief to her refusal, he could only stare at her with widened eyes. "What did you say, Human?" He questioned.

"I see that you extra terrestrials haven't evolved much to improve hearing," she scoffed. "I said, "no", and my answer will always remain as, "no". What kind of disloyal idiot do you think I am?! I don't care about my life for this matter, and it means nothing that these could be the last words I'll ever say! And for the matter, Tavri will never join you, cause my stubbornness is the least of your worries," she exclaimed with fury and passion.

"Onto extortion," Glytrez thought to himself. "What of your mother?" Glytrez lowered his eyes, as he crossed his arms "Could you imagine your dear mother, burned to a crisp with a look of horror painted across her face? Could you imagine her flesh, crumbling with blackness and her skeleton blowing away with the wind?"

Mia stared at him and blinked once, unaffected. "My mother died when I was a little girl. I would think it impossible that you would kill my mother when she's in her grave."

"Oh ." Glytrez turned red as he tried to hide his hesitation and embarrassment. "What of your father then? How would you like to watch him-"

"He disappeared nine years ago," she glared at him, wanting to end the subject immediately. "I doubt that you found him."

"Well, since your father is dead-"

"My father isn't dead. He's just gone ." she hesitated to find the right words to explain herself. "But I'll find him .he's not dead like everyone says."

Frustration overtook Glytrez as he impatiently tried to find the right way to extort his hostage. "I suppose the young man down there you saved is your-"

"Is my what?" she was flabbergasted as her eyes widened. "Maybe you would do the Earth a favor if you got rid of him!" But it was hard for her to mean it.

It was convincing enough for Glytrez though. Nothing came to mind anymore; there was no way to find out who was important to her, so extortion was pretty much tossed to the back of his mind. But, there was no other option. "What if we killed-"

"Oh /please/," she rolled her eyes. "Get the point, you can't extort me, it's nearly impossible. Obviously you haven't planned, because you seem to know nothing about me so your threats are simply harmless."

"You /will/ cooperate."

"Why don't you come back tomorrow?" She snickered. "I'm getting a headache listening to you, and /obviously/ you're getting no where. Don't waste your time, and more importantly, mine."

Mia enjoyed the fury and annoyance she caused and loved the look on her victims' faces. Glytrez's face was a priceless sight, and she tried to hide a chuckle when she watched his green skin turn a bright shade of red. Though she couldn't move, in her state of paralysis, she had done more damage to Glytrez without anything physical than he had done to her. With delight, she watched her entertainment storm out of the room with his minion chasing after him. Welcome to her game: he'd have to play by her rules, but what she didn't know, was that he was prepared to.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

"We need to save her!" Mitch felt as if he had been repeating that for the past hour as he spoke to the crowd. After the first time he repeated it to himself in his head, he began to realize exactly what he was saying. He was ordering all of Tavri; the most advanced military on the entire planet: the Tavri military, to rescue a girl he'd been rivals with nearly all of his life. It didn't make any sense but after she had fatefully taken the shot that was meant for him, his whole world was spinning.

Frantically, he stood on the platform that was positioned in the middle of the road whenever announcements were made outdoors. Today had been so perfect, but everything turned upside down in a matter of seconds. It was rare a time where he could actually enjoy the beauty nature provided on the Tavri Islands with the embracing sun and the whispering winds. Even now, the wind ran through his crown of black with a soothing and comforting breeze. It brushed the way the sweat drops that ran down the side of his face. Waving his arms around as his voice cracked from yelling so much became frustrating. He usually did most of his convincing and ordering around to the army, yelling. So far, as he stood in front of a mostly bored crowd, he hadn't really gotten anywhere and most were slouching, which he couldn't stand. His knees were even weakening from weariness and aggravation.

Admiral Torre Lansky stood on the long platform with him, in opposition. It was an unfamiliar situation, but he was doing his best to ignore the Admiral's smirks and sneers. It was a relief to have Dr. Schrager at his side. There were not many who supported him right now, and especially none of the executives, but when you have the Head M.D. on your side, your tensions ease up a bit. Their past relations had never gone too smoothly, but perhaps things would patch up with this event.

"Obviously there was some reason for these extra terrestrials to come down and just take her!" Dr. Schrager exclaimed to the crowd. His voice was perceptibly tired from . "That reason must be investigated and the true intentions must be revealed. Earth could be in danger from these creatures."

"Well we can find out whether Earth is endangered without retrieving Captain Taust," Admiral Lanksy retorted. "As I said before this rescue operation is a waste of our time."

"Lansky, Mia-Captain Taust must be retrieved; it is inevitable to make sure that she returns back to Earth safely," Mitch glowered. "She is an important member of this military and is vital all around." He couldn't believe the words that were coming out of his mouth; neither could the others.

"It would be against the Tavri Code to leave a soldier to die when it is possible to secure the life of that soldier," Dr. Schrager battled as Mitch winced in shame and looked away, thinking of the previous situation of Private Neil Batro. Mia had been acting under the terms of the Tavri Code, so her penalization was not necessary.

"Matt, you must realize this: this ain't school no more," Torre derided with a smirk. "This contradicting nonsense is intolerable out here on the Tavri Islands especially when yours truly, as your high and supreme leader."

"Torre," there was not many who called the Admiral by his first name. "You must realize that when has position ever stopped me from shutting you down?" He scorned in recrimination.

"Why won't you every obey me? Every other soldier on the Tavri Islands doesn't lack the sense in acting through my orders."

Dr. Schrager shrugged. "I'm a doctor. I ain't every other soldier on the Islands."

The Admiral's eyes flared with resentment and rage for the Head M.D. but he kept his silence. Mitch decided to take the silence for a chance to speak. "Both of us think it's necessary that Captain Taust should be saved, and I'm sure there are plenty here who agree with me." The General could only wish that everyone kept their silence.

"Honestly, General," Lansky rolled his eyes. "We don't need to save her. We can stay put and plan other objections that must be put into immediate notice."

"We're going to save her," Mitch glared at Torre with fury. "I'm second in command, and I can have my own fleet go up there and save her. There needs to be one leader on these Islands who will take action when it is necessary. There needs to be on leader on these Islands who won't drink pina coladas and sit in a Jacuzzi all day," Mitch smirked in a retort.

"And there needs to be one leader on these Islands who needs to recharge the battery in their brain" Torre stood up, smirking back. "Be sensible, Lizyn, like you used to be. I propose an idea that is much more sagacious than any of your ridiculous plans," he tossed his nose high in the air. My fleet has flown there into space, running a full-scale reconnaissance and spotted a colossal space station that belongs to those creatures. All we have to do is blow it up with one of our best bombs and leave a few survivors to run back to their planet and report that Earth can't be taken. They are no match for the human race, and they'll realize it with their defeat. Mission accomplished," Mitch hated the way that Lansky explained his plan with much straightforwardness that it sounded much easier than it actually was.

"And do you have any member of your fleet who can confirm that?" Mitch questioned, crossing his arms. He wouldn't lose this time, and especially not to Torre Lansky.

"Well ." Torre looked down. "Well, after they sent the report of it, it went static . and they never returned."

"Oh /please/, there's no proof!"

"Would you like me to bring you bodies as proof?"

"If that's what it takes, bring em in!"

"The point is, it's up there, and Taust is obviously up there! Believe what you want, Lizyn, but if you long to know where she is, then you better start listening to me for once."

Mitch couldn't quarrel with that, when he was still trying to bring his proposal up. "But we can't blow it up! Mia is still in there, and she'll die with all that trash!" Mitch argued continuously. "She- she saved-"

"She saved /you/r life. Miss Taust's purposes are final. Sacrifices have to be made for the sake of duty and sometimes lives are that sacrifice, right? You said so yourself." Torre had a leering tone in his voice.

"Why is everyone quoting me now?!" Mitch yelled flailing his arms in the air. Dr. Schrager could only shake his head as he watched the two men dispute with no maturity.

"Anyway, Mitch, you can take a little rescue crew as your little heart desires, but only the ones who want to go, can go. I need all the men I can get for the onslaught against these creatures and to plant this bomb to blow them to kingdom come," he shrugged the requirements. "And also, don't be surprised if that space station blows up while you're still in it. Those sunglasses of yours will help a bit when you're in the heat of it all."

Mitch glared back at Torre. Torre had gotten him, and he had to admit it. There were not many who would volunteer to save her, and he wasn't sure if anyone would volunteer at all. It's not like she had fans, even after what she did. As much as many of the soldiers on Tavri admired him, would anyone go that far to his assistance? He glanced from face to face, scanning the area for anyone who wanted to come with an anxiousness that surprised the rest of the Tavri soldiers. The complexion on his face showed the weariness and struggle that had overcome is egotistical self that everyone had been so used to.

"I'll come, General." A red haired young man stepped through the crowd of soldiers and hurried up the platform. Mitch usually recognized this 19 year old by the enthusiasm in his face, but he now looked serious and solemn. It was Private Neil Batro.

"What are best friends for?" Sam King grinned as he jumped the stairs to the platform and shook Mitch's hand. "She's definitely worth anything I got to give." And he stood next to Mitch while Neil stood on the other side.

"Well ." Torre smirked. "I'm glad that we'll be only losing four-"

"Count me in!" a voice shouted from all the way back, and wasn't even in the crowd. Mitch watched a curly haired officer run around the entire crowd and leap onto the platform. His bright blue shining eyes showed every bit of enthusiasm he had to the mission he was about to commit himself to. "Corporal Matt Kahn, reporting for duty," he saluted his General. Mitch tried to hide his grin, as he looked around for more volunteers.

"It wouldn't be complete without me of course," Dr. Schrager took Corporal Kahn's side. "Don't know how all of you would manage without me."

"I knew of five fools on the Tavri Islands," Torre began. "But I didn't know that you were the sixth."

Mitch glared at Torre, fury and hatred locking their eyes. "Well, Lansky. I guess we shall both have to race our fleets to the space station first, and I don't intend to lose."

"I don't need to intend, I will win. Besides." the chilling smile of his did not comfort General Lizyn. "If you don't remember, I do believe you have business to attend governmental checkups on the system here?"

Mitch swore silently, turning his head to the side. He would have to act quickly in order for Mia's safety to be secured. "And when does this need to be done by?" He hoped there was some way he could snake out of it.

"They're probably coming in a short while actually," Mitch watched Torre's irksome grin grow wider and wider across his face.

Mitch scowled and turned quickly around. "And I suppose I'm the one to deal with these mindless politicians? You may have the head start, but the moments of the finish line will belong to me."

"We'll see, Mitchell," Torre leered with wicked satisfaction, but Mitch didn't bother to look back at him. He could already hear the grin in his voice.

With Mitch in the lead walking off the platform, Sam was at his side while Dr. Schrager hurried and took his other. Corporal Kahn and Private Batro followed them down the stairs and the five of them began walking down the Tavri road towards Mitch's office: the one (in total, he had about 10 offices on all of the Tavri Islands, not including the one that had recently been destructed) that was just a few blocks away and where visitors were met. But he stopped them in the middle of the way, when they were no where near to their destination but far away from the crowd and leader they left behind.

"First of all," Mitch turned around to face all of them. "I cannot express enough gratitude to show how much I appreciate your assistance."

"Maybe because you don't express any gratitude customarily," Sam snorted with laughter that did not appease his best friend.

"Shut it, King," he snapped and turned back to face all of them. "I've figured it all out already, and we can beat Lansky to the space station if we follow this plan I've composed," and then Mitch began cursing in every way he could at the Admiral he "respected".

But Dr. Schrager surprised the swearing General and the rest of the group. "Let me tell you this, Lizyn," Dr. Schrager firmly began. "I think the both of you aren't fit to be leaders of the most elite military on the entire Earth. If you were the two best examples of military action and leadership, then I would be ashamed to be part of this system," his eyes flared with a sort of strict practicality and scold. "The both of you, Lansky and you, cannot lead this military and it survives by holding onto a single thread that will eventually snap. The only reason I'm following you, Lizyn, is because I want to help Mia, and I'd never submit myself to the moron you call, Admiral."

The General quickly turned his head away so the others could not see his embarrassment. "All right then, I won't argue to that, but action must be taken immediately," he declared, changing the subject, and began walking again. "Dr. Schrager and Private Batro; I want the both of you to be in charge of the supplies. Pack anything that might be vital to a long trip in space to as much as a battle with an entire army. Dr. Schrager can take care of the medical equipment, while the both of you can split the rest, understood?"

Private Batro nodded and saluted, but Dr. Schrager only turned away without a remark to the aggravated General. He wasn't the only one who disobeyed or dared to defy his orders because Mia was number one, but he had a different away of irritating him. Ignoring his emotions, he turned to the other two.

"Lieutenant King, Corporal Kahn," he started. "I want you to prepare our ship. Sam, you know which one my baby is, get her ready," he said with a boyish grin. "Take care of my black beauty, a'right?"

Sam rolled his eyes. "Of course, General, anything for you."

"That's what I like to hear."

"We'll have her looking nice and snazzy!" Corporal Kahn suddenly remarked and only gained a few stares from the two best friends.

", anyway, I've got a hell to deal with, you better be prepared and ready to go when I'm back," Mitch sighed.

"G'luck," Sam chuckled as he watched his friend continue walking away to his office. What he didn't realize was minutes later, when he started walking with Matt, planes would screech and scar the sky. And to his horror, they weren't the trashy government planes: they were Torre's, and they were already lifting off to take horrendous action.
