Oh Nasser, pray tell us, why wouldn't you go?
You've let us all down and you've ruined the show.
We don't understand why you felt under threat:
The Harare police are as big as you'll get.

Our sponsors are mad after coming come so far,
And of course you've embarrassed Mugabe, Pres. R.
(Not to mention the fact that the Board's in deep shit
As a ten-million fine is a pretty big hit.)

Is it really our fault if democracy's brittle
In some faraway country of which we know little?
We should have played cricket, to African beats:
Would've taken fans' minds off the dead in the streets.

I'm telling you, Nasser, it's really not fair
That you sit here and say that you won't play out there.
We're four points behind and we're chasing the Cup,
Let's hear no more of murders - and please, do play up.
