Drift

The World continues spinning

The cycle never breaks

But I am standing still

Left alone in my misery

Wondering what’s wrong with me;

Are these people pretending?

My so called friends

We used to be inseparable

But now we are drifting

The old memories resurface

A single person overlooked

Being passed, left being

Crumbling under the weight

Of countless reminiscences

Piling up, crushing me

I’m alone, she is gone

We used to be inseparable

The drifting has taken it’s toll

An occasional word spoken

In place of endless conversations

She has forgotten me

Yet I’ll always be here for her

A one sided relationship

Best friends

Now nothing but acquaintances

We used to be inseparable

There is nothing left to drift

gone
