in the middle of the nexus
i heard it
your twinkling voice slid up the poles
and sung hymns and praises
over the razor sharp wires
and i, bewildered
stood fancifully in the thorns
pondering an escape
into your translucent arms

looking up into the brimstone
i reached out for you
and cobwebs latched
upon my trembling fingers
while cruelly laughing faces
swirled around me in contempt
and contradicting adoration

sweetly banded
your voice
c o m e t o m e
and i screamed

help me find the way
to the glistening importance
of the nightmare
and the threatening love
of the serenity
of the lathered myriad visages
hovering like
a midnight beacon
just out of reach...

if i crafted
a fragile palpable dream
i like to wonder
whether you would
take my arm
and walk me into death

e n t r e a t i n g l y
i raced into the spiral zone
and admitted laughingly
to the cheshire cat
my loves and desires
and hates and pains,
and also the embarrassing
secrets
which even you had not
divulged from the rocky
terrain before

when my stretching lips
crooned delicious kisses
and softhearted praises
onto your shining breast
did you ever think
that perhaps
only perhaps
i would find myself
in the middle of a nexus
essencely surrounded
by a haunted race of
painted straining faces
and devilish knights
ripping the buried
entrancements and delights
from around my creaking
ribs

sweetly banded
your voice
c o m e t o m e
and i screamed
