the rain cascades down upon
our sleek and soaked skin,
our hair dripping
and our vision blurry,
your hands clutching mine,
your lips touching mine.
the people run by hurriedly,
shielding themselves in the dark,
their eyes darting suspiciously
and resentfully
at us.
but i see nothing but you,
and you see nothing but me.
"stay with me forever."
"never let me go."
and you begin to cry,
and finally my eyes overflow
for the first time
in front of you
and all i want is your kiss.

i look into the future
and see an empty blur,
vague smears of paint upon
a pale flesh-colored canvas.
i wonder what lays ahead of me
and if you will be there.

your eyes are never as
explicit as they could be, but
i adore you for them still
because love has never been
so cool and clear and shining white
before i fell into your arms

lay your hand in mine and
in your eyes
show me your trust
and possibly i'll hover
in this world for you.
