Long, long ago
Before single-parent adoption became fashionable
I felt/wrote this fragment of poetry
Judith, Judith Kelly
I like the sound of that
I will find you someday
In Asia or in Africa
And I will not care
About the color of your hair
Or your eyes
Or your skin
But only that you are a child
That you need me
And I need you
If you're out there somewhere
The woman who should have been my daughter Judith
I love you
Forgive me
Your mother,
Kay
