Across the now barren hills, down glens and through dales, runs this ancient barrier. And though its purpose is no longer needed, as a wall it still remains, Though now the only barrier is time.
The land in which this old wall runs Was once one mans. He built a wall to guard his borders. To protect his flock. In the building he was successful.
His farm did grow, the man grew old. Then his country fell, And the land grew cold.
The man's age has long since set. His once strong border now waxes, now wanes.
The road through the land that was once one mans, slits through a wall which has no use now.
