Chapter One: The Action

Author’s Note: This is Kendred, I’ve decided to terminate the other account because I’ve lost all will in that story and I hate to go through so much crap…anyhow I’ve decided to remodel “Dreams”. So bare with the new storyline for me…

Christopher slumped down in his seat, gazing at the black chalkboard. Hearing the rapid tap of the chalk and the non-stop lecture of science. Thoughts surged through his mind, as he held the pencil tightly in his hand slowly squeezing the pencil. He continued to give his blank stare at the chalkboard as his hand began to twitch.

“Anything wrong Chris?”

Chris shook his head slightly as he came back to reality and gave his attention to the teacher. He smiled slightly.

“No Mrs. Rogers…nothing at all,” Chris replied softly as he straightened himself in his seat.

“Then why aren’t you taking notes?” Mrs. Rogers asked with a stern look.

“Because I tend to learn better when I listen than take summarized notes…Mrs. Rogers,” Chris answered. The teacher gave no reply, and simply went back to lecturing the class. Chris ignored the lesson, and went back to his thoughts. I hate these classes. I’m treated like I’m a damn retard…ugh this pisses me off. He thought to himself as he soon return to the previous thoughts. Today is the day I’m going to tell him everything…no more secrets, I need to tell him! But what will he do? I hope everything my friends say are true! Happiness would be nice…its been so long since I’ve felt it! Chris sighed softly, as he looked at the clock. Any second the bell would ring, and lunch would begin. Chris showed no sign of change in his emotion. The bell rung, and Chris gathered his books and walked out along with everyone else. He was stopped by Mrs. Rogers who gently nagged him on his shirt.

“I want to speak with you Chris…” Mrs. Rogers said as Chris turned around.

“Sure..”

“What was up with you today? You never act like that…”

“I’m really sorry Mrs. Rogers, I just had a lot of thoughts on my mind…and I kind of phased in and out…”

“About what?”

“I can’t say…”

“Nothing bad…right?”

“I’m pretty sure its nothing bad,”

“Alright…go on to lunch then,” Mrs. Rogers said smiling as Christopher left the room only to see Brett walk by. He became nervous, as he called out for Brett. Brett turned around and looked at Chris as though he was in a hurry.

“Hey Brett…can I speak with you after school?” Christopher mumbled, but was loud enough for Brett to understand.

“Uhm…sure I guess,”

“Alright…meet me here alright,”

“’k” Brett said, as he soon vanished in the crowd of students.

Christopher smiled slightly, as his nervousness turned to excitement. He flurried to his locker, stored away his books, and ran off to the cafeteria. He soon slowed down as he caught up to Tori and Bonnie.

“Hey!” Chris shouted, scaring the two girls.

“Oh my god Chris! You scared the shit out of me!” Tori shouted as the three entered the noisy cafeteria.

“That was the plan,” Chris said merrily.

“Why are you so happy? Oh! That’s right…today’s the day you supposedly tell Brett everything…” Bonnie said with mischief.

“Supposedly? No no no…I will tell Brett,” Chris fought back as the three sat down. They began to converse, as soon the others came.

“Hey,” Andrew said cheerfully as he sat next to Chris. Soon Toria came, and sat next to Bonnie. In no time, the five of them were in a hilarious conversation. They were called up for lunch, as everyone calmly walked.

“Hey Chris, what should I get?” Andrew asked as Chris turned his attention towards the direction.

“Well you have a choice of dry ravioli, a hotdog, fries, or a bagel..” Chris taunted, as Andrew shrugged and decided to have a hotdog. As for Chris, he picked up a bagel, grabbed some cream cheese and continued the line. He paid the casher, grabbed a plastic knife, and walked out towards the table to meet everyone else when he nearly jumped. He stopped midway looking at Brett, but was pulled out of his trance from Tori.

“Come on Chris…no time for day dreaming,” Tori said pulling him to the table. Chris’s heart began to beat faster as he got nervous and excited at the same time. He unwrapped his bagel, and soon began to cut the bagel. He was twitchy. The cut was crooked, as he glared at the bagel and cursed in Japanese. Everyone soon laughed as they saw the youth struggle to cut a bagel. He soon began to spread the cream cheese, then perfectly put the two pieces together and munched. He narrowed his eyes peacefully and began to shift them left and right with each bite. He devoured the bagel within minutes, and decided to reward himself with more views of Brett. He turned around to see the youth talking with all of his friends. Few boys, many girls. Chris shrugged. Why come I can’t be one of those boys? Chris thought to himself as he turned back to his group of friends.

“So what’s going to happen today?” Tori asked looking at everyone.

“I can’t do anything, well more like I don’t want to do anything today…” Chris replied as he yawned.

“Ah, you piece of crap..” Tori replied, “How about you guys?”

“I don’t think I can,” Andrew answered.

“I’ll come over later on the day,” Bonnie told.

“Nope, can’t do anything today,” Toria said with a shrug.

Tori soon lost attention and began to devour her cookies. With a snicker, Bonnie snatched a cookie and bit it making Tori glare at Bonnie. Soon everyone broke out into a laughter as Tori and Bonnie began to fight over cookies. A few minutes went by as the bell rung, and a stampede of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders savaged the halls. Teachers soon joined, as more children from classes began to invade the halls. Christopher shrugged, and saw Brett up ahead taking the less traveled hallway to class. Yes! I can impress him with my running skills! Chris thought to himself, as he crouched down just a bit and sprinted like a ninja. He flashed right by the small sixth graders and teachers, he was almost next to Brett. Smiling he past the young youth causing a breeze at him, and continued to run making a right turn at the intersect. He slowed down, and began to walk at his normal pace. I hope that’ll get his attention… Chris said to himself, as he soon began breathe harder from the sprint. Slowly, he was able to breathe normally as he entered rm.27.

“Hello Mrs. Kemp,” Chris said merrily as he sat down and gave attention to Niko and Richie. The two said their greetings and began to debate over anime. The bell rang, as the three tried their best to kill off the conversation.

“Chris, can you do me a favor?” Mrs. Kemp asked nicely.

“Sure,” Chris said casually.

“Can you run to the English Department and get me my diet coke? I left it there, and I need it…”

“Alright, no problem!” Chris told, getting out of his seat and walking out of the classroom. He smiled, it would get him out of some lecture or something she had planned, no doubt it would bore him to death. He walked down the stairs, took a right going down the small hill with railings for the disabled. He continued forward, going into the high school side, than made a left at the intersection of the high school side. Finally, now where is this damn coke… Chris said to himself, as he opened the fridge and found a diet coke sitting at the top. He grabbed the coke, closed the refrigerator, and sprinted out of the room, hurrying to his class.

He returned, peacefully handing the can to Mrs. Kemp who thanked him. “You’re the best,” Chris heard before sitting down. Chris never questioned the reason of why he was chosen to perform all of Mrs. Kemp’s errands, although he was called a bit of a teacher’s pet, he didn’t care. After all, being gay at this age, he needed to lower his stress level.

“Open your textbooks, and go to page 427, read the poem and answer the questions at the end,” Mrs. Kemp instructed as moans and groans from the students came as the thud of a textbook against a desk rapidly occurred. Then the irritating sound of pages being flipped constantly. The class was quiet. Everyone reading, with loose leaf out, ready to answer the questions. Chris read the poem, he sighed, and soon numbered his paper and answered the questions. Fifteen minutes later, Christopher put the proper heading and handed his paper in bored. He sat back down, and glanced at the clock. Twenty minutes to waste life. He shrugged, slumped back and began to think to himself.

Two periods left…then the grand moment with Brett. How dandy this is…am I even doing the right thing? Should I tell him? Well…yea he deserves to know! Plus everyone says that he is possibly gay, so why shouldn’t I take a shot? Although he could tell the whole school, but I did planned to get revealed this year. I am so fucked up. I hope no one hates him if he does though…like I would let them harm him, I’ll kill them all if they try…

He shook his head as Mrs. Kemp soon spoke.

“I’m collecting this a quiz…there’s about five minutes left, finish what ever you have and hand it in,”

The students began to debate over it, but soon stopped knowing they would lose anyway. One by one, each student stood up, walked over to the large desk, and hand it to the woman fiercely rolling their eyes once they turned their backs to her. Chris gathered his books, and was waiting for the bell to ring. He was practically twitching for the bell to ring.

The bell rung as Chris let out a grin and hurried out of the class and went into the next room. Spanish, great… Chris thought, as he sat at one of the trapezoid style desks. Children flushed into the room, as cheers soon arose as a substitute walked in. The boys slapped hands and changed their seats, as the girls did the same. Chris sat next to Kristi, Tori, and Andrew. No work would be done at this table.

The rest of the period, the substitute didn’t even bother with handing out the work, she sat back and allowed the children to chatter amongst themselves. And they very well did so. Laughter soon surged the room as the bell rung causing another stampede.

One more period…I hope I can survive this… Chris said to himself as his heart raced. He shoved his books away and gripped his backpack and took it with him. Soar…fuck that, Mr. Wolf here I come! Chris planned, as he asked Mrs. Gallucci who was more than kind enough to say yes. In fact she was waving him out happily. He walked to the room across, and smiled to see the younger students who groaned when they saw him. Chris usually took Mr. Wolf’s work away so he could teach the class…or do something productive with them, which made Chris happy because he was returned with DVDs. Homework…wicked! Chris gladly accepted the stack of papers and laptop.

Brett’s in the other science room…I’ll walk through the backrooms so I can get Brett right away! I am so smart! He thought checking the slots for the homework. He let out a yawn, as the clock read 2:30. NINE MINUTES?! Chris coughed from the sudden surprise. I can’t do it…nope I can’t I can’t I can’t He repeated to himself. He saved the programs, shut down the laptop, organized the papers and returned them. He became twitchy while putting his backup on. Only a few more minutes till the moment of truth would be revealed…Chris was praying for an answer of good, rather than bad. He smiled having full hope. The bell rung, and Chris rushed through the backrooms and made it to see Brett packing up. He made a sign of relief and was waiting for Brett who looked up and slightly shrugged.

He walked over to Chris, greeted him, as Chris led him to a private area. He looked up at Brett.

“So…what was it you wanted to tell me?” Brett asked curiously, showing concern.

“Well…you see…I, uhm…promise you won’t think different or hate me?” Chris choked.

“No…why would I?”

“Alright…you see, I wanted to tell you…tell you…uhm…that…uhhhh…”

“What Chris? Is it something bad?”

“No No No…its not bad…well, yea its not bad…alright…I wanted to tell you that I…”

“That you…?”

“That I…that I lo-”

“HEY BRETT!!” A high-pitched, energetic female voice pierced the room stealing the attention and ruining the moment. Lauren Craft was smiling at the door waving to Brett, as Chris twitched. Brett soon forgot about the conversation and walked out with Craft. Chris glared at the short girl, and began to twitch, but soon realized he totally fucked up the moment and got nervous. What happen if he knows?! Oh my fucking god! Shit! He knows and that’s why he left! NO!!!
