It seems that I'm in a constant conflict- whether it be with myself, my friends, or my family- always always always at conflict...why me? He laid on his bed, still clothed, everything around him engulfed in dark silence. Turn of his head, he looked at the time, 10:48 P.M. In his half-dazed state he rose from his bed, got his shoes on and decided to take a walk. I wish Oden walked with Emmy and I...wait, again I'm thinking of him when I should be thinking of Brett. Argh! I'm so confused...deep breathe- let's take a walk to my playground.
He arrived at gate, and laughed at the sign: “Closed after 9 P.M.” Jumping the gate, he stumbled on his landing and laughed it off. Haven't stumbled from this in a long time...getting old? Hah! The moon was a mere crescent and it barely luminates the ground, still it does enough justice. As Chris approached the playground, the screeching from the rusty swings caught his attention, someone's here...at this hour?
“Hey,” it's a familiar voice, Who?
“Whose there?”
“Aw c'mon buddy, don't tell me ya' forgot me already?“
Chris stopped dead in his tracks, his mouth became somewhat dry- Oden? Taking slow steps, the voice thrusts himself from the swing and runs everso fast. It is Oden...
“Hey Oden,” Chris hesitated, “W-what are you d-doing here? At t-this hour?”
“I could ask you the same ya' know,”
“Well this is my playground, well I mean,”
“Ah you're special place? I've grown quite fond of this place too, it's really peaceful at this hour.“
“Yea' I know what'cha mean, that's why I like it here,“ Chris smiled as they started walking towards the swings past the carousel. This is new...someone to hang with at this place. Heh.
“So why are you here?” Oden asked, sitting on a swing.
“Clear some thoughts I guess you could say?” Chris did the same, swinging slowly.
“Ah! I hate the process of thought, don't you?” Oden jested as his swings picked up.
“I guess so, my thoughts are always complex,” Chris smirked, “and they make me frown a lot.”
“Well then don't think, you know they say that thinking will be the death of us,“ Oden laughed which caused Chris to laugh. This doesn't feel odd...at all.
“Yea well if we didn't think then the world be quite black and white,“
“Got me there, but hey, don't think tonight- relax since I'm here,“ Oden stopped swinging and looked at Chris, ”You and I, we're going to be good friends- I can tell.“
At this time Chris started to blush, turning a few shades red, course Oden couldn't see this. He lunged himself out of his seat, and ran towards the carousel.
“Well then friend, join me on this tiny carousel,” Chris laughed as he started spinning on the carousel. It was an amusing sight to see, two teenagers riding a carousel built for toddlers. A few moments passed and Chris started getting dizzy and flung himself off and collapsed on his back looking up at the sky. Oden did the same, almost landing on top of Chris, his leg ontop of Chris's.
“Ack, everything is spinning a bit too fast for me,” Oden chuckled.
“Don't hurl over me!” Chris jested and the two broke off into another laughing fit. They ended with a sigh, and Oden removed his leg and turned to his side. Chris frowned.
“So about this party,” Oden stopped, did he lose his thought?
“What about it?” turning to his side, the two were a few inches away from each other. Heart quickens.
“What's gonna' happen there? Like,” Oden hesitated, “Should I be expecting anything bad?”
“Eh? Things like drugs and booze?” Chris jested while Oden nodded, “I really don't know, probably if Hollie's hosting it.“
“Oh...”
“Don't sweat it man, if you don't want to we're not going to force it on you,“ Chris chuckled and gave Oden a small shove on the shoulder, “We're not assholes ya' know.”
“I know,” Oden shoved back, “Just wanted to make sure, I don't do that stuff anymore so yea'“
“Ah, well don't worry about it- I'll protect ya'” Chris jested, and Oden gave a few chuckles.
“It's almost midnight, bleh, I ha-”
“Shit!” Chris barked, “I need to get home soon, I'll see you later neh?”
“Cinderella tonight?”
“Oh shut up,” Chris laughed.
“Wait, help me up- I'll walk you home,” Oden suggested receiving a helping hand, pulled himself up, and stumbled onto Chris. They froze, for a brief second, then repelled from each other.
“Sorry 'bout that,” Chris stuttered with a bright red face, Oden said the same. They disembarked towards Chris's house, casually laughing at each other. This...was fun.
