From all beginnings.2
Barren are thine limbs once so bright
Gone is the fruit of life
While you lie dormant in never-ending slumber
Parasites dance in ceaseless thunder
Round thine trunk and round thy soul
Rests thine comrades hearts and essence
Their bark is stripped
The knives of trade gouged their eyes
Destruction runs rampant in a bipedal form
Darkness clouds the sky, your foliage has died
A torrent of burning liquid pours from the sky
Bright searing light attacks your weathered trunk
Flames rise high on your dried carcass
Hope has diminished and so has thy life.
Nothing else remains except the sweet blissful feeling of indifference.
~~But there amidst the darkness sprang a light
The light of one brings forth many
The dark clouds have parted bringing the needed
A warm yet cool mist quenches the burning
The crowd that gathers comes to lessen your pain.
Alas! The damage was done.
Your soul has gone from its shell and none is left
Yet while hope remains, while caring is still abundant.
A sapling emerges from the ashes
A phoenix in all but form amasses
The sapling lives because of sacrifice
A youngling's life was allowed to continue this day
To the river that washes into the bay
While the love of life is still here
We need not fear.
