~I Gave Him My Coat To Bleed On~
by Hyel
I saw him standing in the rain
A shadow among the stillborn
Alone, like all of us, in his pain;
From his mother's womb torn
And in that moment slain.
I watched him bending in the wind
A ghostly form among the frozen,
And backwards falling, dying in kind
To all of us, who live unspoken.
I thought I was losing my mind.
But I went to him with my hands held out
And touched his wet cold brow
I gave him my coat to bleed on, without
Remembering to dodge the blow -
And now forever mouthless, I shout.
