Author’s Note: This was originally a poem, and then I added a verse and made it a song. It’s horribly repetitive, though. Eh. I posted this because Ray liked the poem.

Verse

The days are shorter

Now that you’re gone

I don’t live in the moments

So they don’t seem so long

Verse

Time seems to pass me by

And I wonder where it goes

A waste of this life

As far as anybody knows

Verse

The clouds sweep down and cry for me

But I brush away their tears

I don’t want their sadness

They can’t wash away my fears

Chorus

Since you’ve gone

Everything’s been wrong

I don’t know what life means to me

I can’t get along

Since you’re gone

I can’t carry on

There’s nothing left to live for

You were the only one

And now you’re gone

Verse

The long and winding road

Seems smoother without you

Maybe I can drive through life

Without ever having a clue

Verse

About the stars beyond my reach

And the moonlight on your skin

Because something about that image

Still stirs me from within

Verse

Although I’m dead to life

Lost in the mundane

Without your hands to guide me

I’m the only one to blame

Verse

That I will stand alone

Until the end of my years

And I would if I’ll ever

Muster up the tears

Chorus

Since you’ve gone

Everything’s been wrong

I don’t know what life means to me

I can’t get along

Since you’re gone

I can’t carry on

There’s nothing left to live for

You were the only one

And now you’re gone
