Xandra: I wrote this while taking a reprieve from working on my Anime/Manga story Dark Illustrations: Sketches in Blood, because my mind was still in the POV of one of my two main characters, a telepathic boy named Adrian who had visions. If you like the poem, I might suggest reading the story to those who haven't already, but beware, this and the story it attaches to are both pretty morbid (and shonen-ai [male/male relationships] are featured in my story, though not in this). Thank you.

Future of Mankind

By Xandra

****

I cannot sleep

I DARE not sleep

For I fear what dwells within my mind

When I sleep

The heavens weep

For I see the future of mankind
Children cry

Angels die

All of it is grossly real

Grown men who lie

With boys, who buy

Drugs to kill off the shame they feel
Powdered lust

"Angel dust"

Used to hide from life

Deeds unjust

Blades that rust

In the chest of a man who hurt his wife
So I sit and weep

And I dare not sleep

To escape visions of an evil kind

Afraid demons will reap

The soul I keep

For I fear what dwells in my mind.

Xandra: I might make it longer, so keep tabs on it if you like it. I'm just posting it now to get it outta my head.
