Eyes
Sitting on my bed, I watched the crows fly in and out of that large oak
tree on my new house's back yard. They said it would be peaceful here, they
said that it would be serene, but it all sums up to Dead Ville. You know
too peaceful to know that you're dead already. We moved here yesterday only
my cousin, Michael and me. I hated that place it was only my mother who
suggested that we stay there.
Nonetheless someone already invited me to a party or gathering so it wasn't
as I bad as I thought. It's about six and I don't know what to bring just
my trusty knife to protect me.
"Sara," oh yeah its Michael calling me, I thought that it was somebody else
trying to invade my demented privacy. I pocketed my knife and rushed down
stairs to see what he wanted. Peeking on the kitchen's door frame, I saw
him baking cookies?! What a sight! "Yeah, you called," startling him, he
turned around and said in the most concerned voice, "You mustn't go there
Sara its far too dangerous," I rolled my eyes and said, "I'll be fine don't
worry and no matter what I'll go home."
He smiled and was relieved to hear that I will take care of myself for a
change. I looked at my watch, shit 5 minutes to six; I peddled faster until
I got to the old house that they were talking about. Jumping from my bike I
hesitantly looked for them, sadly they weren't there. Oh, fuck! This must
be another prank I hate this place! "Sara," I heard someone say, what in
blazes! "Sara, come in the house," deciding that it was nearly Halloween;
they were probably playing a trick on me.
I got in the house; it was full of cobwebs and old furniture. I was creeped
out, why would they invite me here. Climbing up the staircase every thing
swirled around me and I saw eyes! Pleading eyes that beckoned me to help.
But what was I going to do sudden panic fell over me. I closed my eyes
hoping that this was only an illusion.
"Sara," I heard someone say, "Yeah," I saw that I was in a dining room. but
how could it be? I saw a boy waving his hand an inch away from my face,
"Are you dreaming," he said putting his hand on my shoulder, "Oh, no -no, I
was, I don't actually know. but what's for dinner?" I felt my world
spinning again but held in my breath to find out that I was okay now,
"Japanese food," he said as his mother came in and brought the tray before
us. "What's this," I asked poking at something squishy, he smiled and said,
"Eyeball soup."
