Is This Love At First Sight?

I sat there in my normal seat, I was daydreaming again. Love stories filled my mind. I've been reading too much love stories over the vacation. I sighed. The teacher in front of the class is boring. She's there talking and talking about science while I'm here, in my seat, thinking.

I stared at the guy sitting in front of me. I was looking at the back of his head. All I can do is stare. He's been my crush since 7th grade, the first time I met him. It's 8th grade now. The first time his light blue eyes looked upon me, I almost fainted right there.

I felt in love with him.

Is this love at first sight? I can't tell.

"Claire, what is the answer for the problem?" I heard my teacher ask me.

"Huh? Oh...um..."- I looked at my friend, Ariel, she mouthed the answer to me -"It's earth." I told the teacher.

The teacher looked at me, and then continued to teach the class. I sighed and thanked Ariel.

"What's the matter, Claire? You're always good at this subject, are you okay?" Ariel asked me.

"Yeah, I'm fine…" I replied. I tried to pay more attention to the science teacher later. I couldn't stop thinking about him yet...His name is Alex. I've been reading too much romance novels, my dreams, recently, is about a romantic dance he and I did. Of course, it's fake but I DID dream it.

After science class, we had lunch. Ariel sat next to me. I got my lunch but I didn't eat yet. Ariel was a bit worried. "Claire, are you okay?" She questioned.

"Yeah, of course, what do you think?" I said in a strange way.

"Hehe, perhaps, thinking about a guy, Claire?" came another voice. She is my other friend, Jane.

I turned extremely red. "See? Told ya." laughed Jane. She took a seat in front of us.

"Hmph, what are you talking about? YOU must have someone in mind." I said sarcastically.

"Arg, yes, I DO have someone in mind...it happens to be...David..." Jane replied. She seems proud of what she said. I would have NEVER told anyone about my crush...

"You really mean David?? He's two years older than us. Plus, he's ugly!" Ariel said. She made a face. Ariel always looks for good-looking guys. I do that most of the time too. Alex is another question. He's not really that good-looking. At first, I thought he was handsome. Later, my friends started telling me how ugly he is. Every time I look at him, I noticed he's not as handsome as I thought. But, I still like him...is this love at first sight...or more?

"Hey, Claire, so who's the guy you have in mind?" Jane asked. She ignored Ariel's comments on David.

"Hmm? Well...I think David is okay." I lied. I never liked David. He's just too...uh...hard to describe...I just said him because I wanted Jane to be jealous.

"Huh?! Are you trying to make me jealous?!?!" yelled Jane. I laughed and nodded my head.

Finally, the day was over. I saw Alex again...every time I walk pass him, I could feel his stare. I always get nervous when that happens.
