I love my brother. I always have.
I remember when we used to play together as children. We'd do short skits for our parents and
pretended to be celebrities. I remember when we used to build sand castles at the beach and then
destroy them afterwards.
Those were fun times.
Dad built a tree house for my brother one summer. I was jealous and kept quiet. Bro knew me
well and begged Dad to make me one of my own. He was so sweet to me.
When we were ten, he swore to protect me from any danger and became my "personal knight."
Our younger brother was constantly left out when we were together. I felt guilty and chose to
watch cartoons with him on weekends. I didn't like to see him cry.
Yes, my big brother Kirk and I were close, but no one could understand our bond. We knew what
the other was thinking and felt what each other felt. Our understanding of each other's emotions
was for us alone.
It wasn't til later that we discovered our hidden abilities.
When we were thirteen years old, a few street punks decided to harass us one day on our way to
the grocery store. Our short cut through an abandoned lot took us straight to them.
Kirk lived up to his promise and did his best to protect me, but that only angered the thugs even
more. One grabbed me when I screamed and threw me to the ground. When I looked up, I saw
the other two kicking Kirk in his sides. I feared for his life.
Just as the teenager started toward me again, I screamed as loud as I could. A powerful feeling
came over me. My voice sounded different. Our assailants drew back and covered their ears.
When I finally stopped, they started toward me again. My brother came up behind one of them
and smashed his fist through his chest. Blood sputtered from his mouth and he fell to the
ground.
The other two attackers were horrified. Kirk and I were unfazed.
I rose to my feet.
A strong wind started blow. I felt the sudden urge to do something. In my mind, I pictured the
remaining gang members being tortured by a million terrible things. The two teens were pushed
against a wire fence. I could tell they were struggling to move but they couldn't.
My brother looked at the gravel on the ground. The tiny pebbles swirled up into a mini tornado
and pounded into our adversary's faces. Their screams died quickly. When it all stopped, they
were bloody and disfigured.
As if on cue, reality suddenly returned to us. I started to weep. What had we I done?
"Oh my God!" I cried. "What happened? What did we do?"
My brother looked at his bloody hand in disbelief. "Jesus . . ."
"We have to get out of here." I started backing away.
Kirk wiped his arm off on one of the corpse's shirts and followed me. We ran far away from the
lot and stopped a few blocks away to catch our breath.
I sat down on an old tree stump. "There was this odd feeling that came over me and I just . . ."
"I know. I felt the same way when I saw them about to hurt you." Kirk said. "We can't tell
anyone about this."
"Yes," I agreed. "This has to be a secret. Not even Mom and Dad can know."
Kirk nodded.
"How did we do it though?" I said aloud.
"We'll talk about when we get home. Right now, we have to get to the store before Mom and
Dad start to worry." Kirk suggested.
"But your shirt . . ." I pointed.
Blood from the teenager had stained my brother's shirt near the bottom and sleeves.
"Give me your sweater." He said.
I took off my sweater and handed it to him. Kirk tucked in his shirt and wrapped my sweater
around his waist, covering all of the stains. He rolled up his sleeves to his shoulders and was
ready to go.
We hurried to the grocery store and bought milk, eggs, baking soda, butter, bread, and cream of
tarter. With the extra money, we bought a load of sweets to calm our nerves. We didn't talk the
whole walk home. I felt as if though everyone knew what we had done. It seemed as if they were
all watching us. I suspected that a policeman would come any second and throw us in the
backseat.
When we got home, I gave the groceries to our parents while Kirk went to his room to change
clothes and hide the bloody ones. Instinctively, we met up in his tree house in the oak in the back
yard.
"Do you think we'll get in trouble for this?" I asked.
"I doubt it. I don't think anyone saw us kill them. Even if they did, we can deny everything. We
were at the store, remember?" Kirk had a point.
That's what I loved about Kirk. He always knew what to do. I could turn to him for anything.
"What was that power? How did we do it?" I said.
"The question is," Kirk reached out the window and broke off a piece of a branch. "Can we do it
again?"
Kirk set the branch down before him and stared at it long and hard. The branch didn't move at
first but then it wiggled. Slowly, it started to rise into the air and stopped in front of his face.
"Whoa!" I said amazed. "Can I try?"
"Sure. Just think and concentrate really hard on what you want it to do." Kirk instructed and
lowered the branch to the floor again.
I stared at the branch and imagined it hovering and spinning in the air. Nothing happened. I sighed
in defeat.
"Don't give up." Kirk encouraged. "Keep trying."
I gave it another try. When the branch wiggled, I pushed my mind harder and harder. It shook
again and slowly rose into the air. It spun once and remained still.
Kirk smiled. "I knew you could do it."
"I bet we could do more." I remembered something I read in a comic book once. "Think of
something."
"Huh?"
"Tell me something using your mind. I'll try to guess what it is." I said.
Kirk nodded and obeyed me. I stared at him and concentrated. I tried to lock onto his brain and
hear him. There was a faint sound that sounded like his voice. I concentrated harder. Quietly, I
could hear Kirk speaking in my mind. He was reciting a poem that we learned in school. It was
our favorite one. I began to recite it with him in my mind.
*. . . Through the cold and darkness
we will look back on this day
and fall into oblivion.
Through a brilliance beyond twilight
we will rise again,
ready to face the dangers that befall on us . . .*
Kirk smiled. I knew he had heard me.
Each day, we practiced our magic and strengthened our powers. We learned that we could use
our telepathy without being close to each other. Kirk learned how to teleport over short distances.
I could do it too but I never really cared for that sort of thing. We practiced new attacks and
spells. Kirk suggested that we take up the art of fighting.
Together, we made our own weapons out of scrap metal mastered them. Unfortunately, in all of
this secret training, I had to leave my younger brother behind. He was getting too attached to my
company when my main objective was to stay by Kirk.
My older brother and I combined our attacks and spells. We were like the super heros on t.v.
except we were real. It was kind of funny because we were only seventeen and probably more
experienced than the professional guilders.
One day, Kirk and I were in my tree house discussing our future.
"So what do you want to do?" I asked. "Fight crime in secret or go work for somebody for some
hard cash?"
"What do you think about the Yunzi Corporation?" Kirk suggested.
"Yunzi? It's bad enough that they practically run everything on this continent. Must we work for
them to?" I asked.
"I know but who else can we work for? They already have an large arsenal of skilled fighters and
magic users. With abilities like ours, we could become famous. I know they will surely let us in if
we swear allegiance to them." Kirk looked at me pleadingly.
"And do you know what kind of missions they send those skilled fighters and magic users on?" I
looked at him. "We'll be killing people and doing their dirty work."
"I know but what have we got to lose? Mom, Dad, and Collen will have each other. And I'm sure
we will be able to visit them. I doubt they will send us on separate missions often. We can request
to remain together, okay?"
I sat back and sighed.
Kirk placed his hand on mine. "Think of the money we'll be getting."
My brother did have a point. Yunzi was known to pay well. If we ever made enough, we could
move out of this area and to a better one. I read his eyes and they told me that he really wanted to
do this.
*Please Sis?*
I sighed again. "Fine, but as long as we aren't signed up for life."
Kirk smiled. He leaned closer and kissed me.
*Thank you, Sis.*
I smiled and kissed him back.
"We have to go sign up tomorrow. I want to get to work as soon as possible. I have a few things
I'd like to get on my shopping list." Kirk said, sitting back.
"Like what for instance?"
"Like better weapons and books of magic."
"But, dear Brother, we already know magic." I chuckled.
"I know that but I mean the kind of magic they use in magic guilds and schools. We haven't been
able to afford anything like them. With money from Yunzi, every book will be at our disposal."
Kirk explained.
My brother was so smart. He thought everything out.
"You're right. It would be wise to know the basic and advance magic that everyone else knows.
Then we can come up with ways to reflect it." I looked down. "Genius."
Kirk turned his nose in the air.
"I know." He said arrogantly.
I threw a pillow at him. "Oh you!"
He countered by jumping on me and pinned me down.
I cried out and laughed. "Get off of me!"
"Not until you say it." He said playfully.
"Get off of me! I meant it!" I warned.
"Say it."
*Kirk is the coolest, most smartest guy in the whole wide world!*
*You forgot a part.*
*And he is the cutest guy that all the women want. There! You happy?*
"Very much." He leaned down and kissed me. *Thank you Sis.*
My brother and I had kissed many times before and we thought nothing of it. Our relationship had
always remained as siblings. But this kiss felt different for some reason. I returned it with passion.
We parted briefly and looked into each other's eyes. I could tell he was feeling the same way.
Kirk kissed me again.
There was a feeling inside me that I cannot explain. It had hindered my ability to think properly.
We kissed for a long time. I never felt so warm. We parted again. Kirk stared at me confused. He
moved away to the other side of the tree house as I sat up. There was an eerie silence between us.
"I think we should go help Mother with supper." Kirk said.
I nodded. "Right."
We left my tree house and headed in to help Mother. At the dinner table we told our family of our
plans. They disapproved of it immediately. Kirk and I decided it was time to reveal our powers to
our parents. Mom almost fainted. Dad was in shock. Collen was delighted and wanted to know if
he could do it too. I never did sense any powers from within him and I doubted he ever would
have them but I told him the opposite.
We let them sleep on it.
The next morning, they approved of our decision and wanted us to visit them soon. Kirk and I set
out for the headquarters of the Yunzi Corporation. When we got there, the receptionist looked
down on us like we were nothing more than absentminded adolescents.
"Aren't you a little young to be magic users?" He asked. "Studying magic takes a long time and is
quite hard to master. Yunzi has no room for beginners."
I felt insulted. In the blink of an eye, I pulled the receptionist from his chair and turned upside
down in the air with my powers.
"Ahhh! Help! Someone help! Please!" The receptionist cried.
Kirk folded his arms and brought the man eye to eye. "Don't underestimate us."
Armed guards entered the lobby. They stopped and stared in shock.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry!" The receptionist pleaded.
"Now, can we be interviewed or not?" Kirk asked in a threatening tone.
"Yes! Yes! Put me down! Please! Anything you want!" He begged. "Just don't kill me! I have a
wife and son."
"I feel sorry for them." I remarked.
I could hear the guards nearby reporting to their superiors that there were "two possible
terrorists" in the building. This was getting ugly.
*There's no time for this, Kirk. The guards are going to get trigger-happy in a few seconds.*
*I know.*
Kirk put the man back in his chair easily.
"You two!" The guard in charge said. "Come with us!"
*Should we?*
*Yes. If they lock us up, we can still bust out of here or carry out our sentence. Whichever you
prefer.*
We were escorted to an elevator. After a long trip up, we were taken to a set of large double
doors guarded by Yunzi's soldiers. A woman was seated nearby at her desk. They opened the
doors for us and we stepped inside.
It was a large oval shaped office. The window in the back was grand. The walls were a shade of
red at the top and faded away to black near the floor. The ceiling was colorless and strange
statues were all over the office. An enormous throne-like desk was planted in the far back of the
room. Sitting in the chair was the CEO of Yunzi Corporations with armed guards at his sides.
Muryo Yunzi was a tall man with long green hair. He had emerald eyes that seemed to sparkle
like stars. He was handsome and young, probably in his late twenties or so.
He beckoned for us to come closer. I was skeptical but we obeyed.
*They sent us here? Why the CEO's office? Is he not afraid we will kill him?*
*Shhhh. Calm down. We need to see where this is going.*
"I am Muryo Yunzi, chief executive of Yunzi Corporations. I understand you want to be
employed." Muryo looked us over. "What are your names?"
"Kirk Madison." My brother answered.
"Laurie Madison." I said.
"What field interests you?" Muryo asked.
"Bodyguards." Kirk replied.
"Oh? What makes you think you can protect me from any danger?" Muryo asked.
"We are skilled magic users."
"I did hear of your little episode in the lobby."
"He insulted us." I spoke up finally.
Muryo smiled. "You must demonstrate."
I heard a door open on the side. Eight ninjas entered the room and closed in on our location. My
brother and I looked at each of them.
*Don't use your strong magic here.*
*Should we kill them?*
*Afraid so.*
A couple of ninjas charged at us. We sent them flying back against the wall. They hit the floor
hard and didn't move. Three ninjas leapt into the air in our direction. I raised my palm to them.
"Inferno!" I shouted.
All three men turned into fireballs and hit the ground screaming.
On instinct, I checked on my brother. He was dealing with two ninjas of his own. They came at
him with swords raised above their heads. Kirk closed his eyes and disappeared just as they swung
down. They looked around confused. My brother dropped from the air above them.
"Fire snake!"
A stream of fire rose from the ground and swirled around the two ninjas. The figure of a snake
appeared and hissed at them. It closed its coils and the two men burned to ashes. My brother
landed safely on the ground.
The final ninja rushed toward us.
*Take him Sis.*
"Whirlpool!"
The ninja was incased in a large water bubble. He struggled and fought to keep his feet on the
ground but failed. He started to spin faster and faster until he finally created a blurry whirlpool in
the center of the room. The blue water turned red and the ninja's internal organs splash on the
walls. The spell ceased and a bloody heap of flesh fell to the floor.
My brother and I turned to Muryo who looked like he was hardly amazed.
"I'm impressed. You have such supreme powers for young people. Never have I seen attacks
such as yours. Where did you study?" He asked.
"Our back yard or an empty field." I said. "Any place that we can practice in peace."
Muryo arched an eyebrow. "You mean to tell me you learned to do that on your own? Surely you
had to read books or ask a wise man?"
Kirk shook his head. "No. Our family is too poor to afford books or send us to magic school."
Muryo was silent.
*I don't think he believes us.*
*He has no choice. He obviously knows we are extremely powerful. If Muryo lets go of us, some
smaller company can easily rise to power and become a competitor. I don't think he would want
that.*
*You are so intelligent, Kirk.*
*I learned from the best.*
*Are you sure we are the best though? There could be others like us around that we don't know
about. What if he already has other people like us and they know more magic than we do?*
*I doubt it. If there were someone like that, they'd be all over the news. Besides, when we get the
money we need, we can learn every kind of magic.*
*And then some.*
"If I do hire you, can I trust you not to turn on me and be there in my time of need?" Muryo
asked.
"There is no need to question our loyalty. We have a family to take care of that lives in an area
controlled by your corporation. If protecting them means protecting you, I can assure you that
your life is in no danger with us around." Kirk told him.
"Turning on you would be pointless and, besides, it's not our style." I added.
"Understandable. I can see that you two mean no harm to me or my corporation and therefore I
may be able to hire you."
*Good. But?*
"But, you must take a short course in hand-to-hand combat, field and weapons training first. A
physical is required also." Muryo handed two manila folders to a guard.
The guard approached us and handed them to Kirk.
"Fill out those forms and return them to my secretary in the morning. She'll send you to the
recruiter and he'll answer all your questions." Muryo said.
"Thank you, sir." We said in unison.
"My pleasure." Our future employer replied.
We turned and left the office. I had a good feeling about our new jobs. When we reached the
elevator, I noticed a small cleverly hidden camera in the corner of the ceiling. I almost spoke
aloud but decided it was best not to say anything til we left the building.
*I think the guards did not like us very much. When Muryo said that he would hire us, I sensed
negative vibes from both of them.*
*Me too. But I think we did pretty good. I just don't understand why he would let us kill his own
men. I guess he didn't think we could do anything.*
*That is sort of an advantage for both he and us. Because of our youth, people underestimate our
abilities therefore they let their guard down. They won't realize our strength until it is too late. I
can't wait til we go on our first mission.*
*Patience, Laurie. Rushing into things can be a weakness and a cause of your downfall.*
*I know, I know.*
The elevator doors opened and we stepped out.
The receptionist saw us carrying the manila folders and muttered something too low for me to
hear. I mad-dogged him the whole time til we left the building. The poor receptionist pretended to
be doing something else but was visibly sweating.
As soon as we got home, we went to Kirk's tree house and started to fill out our applications.
"What did you put down for weight?" Kirk asked me.
I narrowed my eyes at him and he smiled deviously.
"I didn't think this application was going to be so long. Look at this. We have at least 20 pages to
fill out." I put my pen down. "I don't know about you but I am going to take a break."
"Aww, what's the matter Sis? Tired already? I can't wait to see you choke on the physical." Kirk
joked.
I sneered at him. "No, it's just that my hand is cramping."
Kirk set his papers aside and sat next to me. He took my right hand and started to massage it
gently. My big brother was always so kind to me. I watched him work his healing magic on my
hand. Over the years my brother had grown into a fine gentleman. His blue hair went well against
his indigo eyes. His facial features were strikingly handsome and his muscular build was intriguing
to any woman.
My thoughts must have been stronger than I thought because he looked at me as if he knew what
was on my mind. We stared into each other's eyes, closing the space in between us. Our lips met
in a passionate kiss. Soon, we were in each other's arms. I don't remember how he ended up on
top of me, but I do remember that he stopped after the last button on my blouse was undone.
We looked at each other and asked ourselves the same question. Should I have submitted and
allow him to know everything was all right? I didn't know the answer at the time so I did nothing.
Kirk rose off of me stared out of the tree house window. I sat up and re-buttoned my blouse.
My brother looked at me and then to the floor. I stared at him. Our eyes locked once more.
Slowly, we came together again, lips touching briefly.
"Hey guys!" We heard Collen coming up the ladder.
We pulled apart, grabbed our papers, and pretended to be hard at work. Collen popped his head
in.
He climbed into the tree house and made himself comfortable. "So what's the big cheese like?"
"Mysterious." I said.
"And careful about who he chooses to work for him." Kirk added. "I'm surprised he even gave us
applications."
"So you guys have to take a whole bunch of tests and everything?" Collen asked.
"Yes. I'm sure Laurie will fail every one of them." Kirk remarked.
"Oh, stop picking on me." I whined.
Collen laughed and started down the ladder. "Well, good luck!"
"Thank you Collen." I called after him.
He poked his head back through the door. "Oh yeah, Mom told me to tell you that we are all
going out for a little while to find some tiles to fix the roof. Dad wants Kirk to help him when we
get back so stay out of trouble."
"Thanks Collen." My other brother said dryly.
Collen chuckled and left.
"Phew!" I breathed and put my tablet down.
I saw Kirk staring at me again from the corner of my eye. I hesitated to look at him but did
anyway. We turned our heads away quickly. I bit my lip, deep in thought. Why was I feeling so
different inside? My brother suddenly became the most handsomest man I had ever seen. I was
slowly starting to realize the feelings I had for my brother were more than just the love of a family
member. I was feeling the love a person has for another person. But how could that be? Kirk was
my brother. I wondered if he was feeling the same way.
When I looked up again, he was staring at me. Finally, he put his things down and sat next to me.
"How's your hand?" He asked and took it gently.
"A little better now. Thank you." I said politely.
Kirk kissed my hand lightly with his lips. I was taken by surprise. My brother looked at me again
in that peculiar way. Slowly, our mouths met in a heated kiss. Soon I was under him and watched
him take care of my blouse buttons, one by one.
My scorts weren't too hard for him to remove. His shirt and my panties were the next things to
go. He laid on top of me and kissed my neck with his perfect soft lips.
*Oh brother . . . is this right?*
*Does it feel right to you?*
He nibbled my ear and unzipped his pants. I sighed in excitement when I felt his manhood find it's
way inside me. It hurt a little but I didn't mind.
*Yes, but we are siblings. This can't be right.*
We are the only people that we know of like us. I doubt it is wrong to love each other . . . even if
we are family.
Kirk's hands were in mine when he started to move his hips. He pressed himself deeper and
deeper into me. I could feel his penis throbbing within my cunt. Instinctively, I moved my hips
with his. I moaned with little movement. He sucked on my neck and kissed my cheek.
*Oh brother . . . (sigh) . . .*
Kirk let out a few moans of his own. I felt myself getting closer. His small grunts sped everything
up. With a long moan, my cunt walls closed on my brother's healthy manhood and I came.
*Laurie . . .*
My brother's thrusts quickened. He hovered above me. I could feel his longing and eagerness. I
wanted him to cum. He had to cum with me. I moaned and tried for a second time. I took my
hands away from his and wrapped them around his body. My moans became louder as he moved
in and out of me. My orgasm was not a quiet one. I could feel Kirk ready to explode. A few
seconds later, my brother came. A load of cum shot into me. His hips smashed into my body.
Finally, we stopped. Kirk collapsed on me, breathing hard. I brushed his hair and held him close to
me. He raised up and looked into my eyes. We kissed.
I was about to say something but he stopped me. Kirk moved down in between my legs. I could
feel his face inches away from my exhausted cunt. He kissed it once and drew back. I could feel
something moving inside me.
*What are you doing?*
*You'll see.*
I waited.
My brother placed his hand in between my legs. He inserted two fingers into my cavity and
wiggled them. I shut my eyes and moaned. I could feel him smiling. There was a sudden warm
feeling where his fingers were. My vagina tingled and then was still. Kirk kissed and licked in
between the lips and flicked my clit with his tongue. My hands balled into a fist. I arched my back
and moaned.
Kirk wrapped his arms around both of my legs and continued probing me with his tongue. I
moaned with passion. I could feel my brother's tongue go into my cunt. Eventually, I came in his
mouth. I smiled when he tasted me.
*What did you do?*
*Just something to keep you from getting pregnant. We are too close to getting what we want for
that.*
*You are so smart, Kirk. Kiss me.*
Kirk crawled back up to my face and kissed me passionately.
Sex was such a wonderful feeling. I am glad I lost my virginity to Kirk and not to someone else.
We turned in our applications the next morning as instructed. We went to see the recruiter and
discussed time schedules, terms, issues, and training courses. Kirk asked about the income. The
answer he got was well over 170,000 huns a year. And that was just the starting salary. Our
family wouldn't have to go hungry for long.
We started our hand to hand combat training first. Many of the other new recruits were struggling
with the motions and combinations. It was easy for my brother and I. We could sense the jealousy
of the other recruits. They were really steaming when we got to learn how to use a variety of
weapons. I chose one close to my custom made one. It was called a Kiyo. The Kiyo was like a
large metal yo-yo with razor blades. Kirk did the same and picked a Light Sabre. We mastered all
of the weapons in record time. The drill instructors were amazed. The physiologists and medical
doctors said we were healthy and our speed and stamina was at an extremely high level.
Everything about us was off the charts. One doctor commented that we were built for this kind of
work.
The next thing they taught us was the basics of magic using. There were a few things that my
brother and I learned about that was new. Most of it we had learned the hard way. Magic users,
or as the guilders call them, Gundis were impressed with our intelligence and understanding of
different types of magic.
A high Gundi named Runal decided to test our knowledge one day.
"All right then, since you seem to know everything, tell me, what elemental is thunder?" Runal
pointed to me. "Laurie?"
"That is a trick question. Thunder is a non-elemental therefore has no opposing force. For
example, a lightening-based monster will not be weak against a Fire Mammoth or an Ice
Monkey's magic attacks but they will be weak against each other." I said.
Runal smirked and walked away. I received many smiles from the other recruits. Over time my
brother and I had gained a fan club. People looked up to us and begged to know our secrets. We
decided to keep to ourselves mostly and rarely talked to anyone else except each other.
I noticed a younger guy had become fond of me. He followed me and talked to me like we had
been pals for years. I tolerated his company for about a week. By then he insisted on intruding
when my brother and I wanted to be alone. A few dirty looks from the both of us, sent him
running the other way.
Kirk and I made love many times. We snuck out of the barracks and met in abandoned buildings
We never got caught. There was no other man in my life. My brother had become my boyfriend.
Sometimes women would try to charm him and become his lover. He'd turn them down and tell
me about it. Later on, I'd find that girl and teach her a lesson. No one came between me and my
brother. No one . . .
While Kirk and I were together training, Muryo watched us from a far. I could tell he was
interested in how we worked. The Yunzi scientist could only come to the conclusion that we had
telekinetic abilities but they didn't know how we could call on our own magic with out the use of
scrolls or magic stones. I heard a few scientists saying that the CEO had big plans for Kirk and I.
Our last test was a test of our strength. My brother and I were put up against the top Gundi and
fighters Yunzi had. Sometimes we were put together. Other times we faced an enemy alone. But
my brother and I were with each other in mind and heart. Muryo was throughly impressed with
our performance and ordered that we be in uniform ASAP.
When we finally completed all of our training courses, my big brother and I were given rooms at
Muryo's mansion. Being that we were his special body guards, being close to him meant living in
the same house. Kirk and I couldn't believe how large the mansion was. It was eight stories high
and almost a mile in diameter. Muryo's home had an estimate of 450 bedrooms, 3 kitchens, 8
living rooms, several bathrooms, a dining hall, a cellar and attic, and a dozen crawl spaces.
It was a beautiful place live in. I loved it as did my brother. I heard the CEO had a lot of his
security guards and special soldiers living with him and it was necessary to have a dwelling that
large.
Our first night there, Kirk came to my room. I was in my bed reading a book at the time. He sat
down next to me and nuzzled my ear. When I felt his tongue enter my ear, I giggled. My brother
nibbled my earlobes and kissed them. His left hand rubbed my leg.
*Sister, time to put your bookmark in.*
*Screw the bookmark.*
I shut the book and tossed it on the floor.
Kirk caressed my cheek and rubbed my already hard nipples through the fabric of my silk night
gown. I turned to face him and we kissed passionately. Gently, I pushed him against the bed and
sat on his lap. I wiggled my hips. My brother's erect penis bulged out of his shorts. It wanted me
badly.
I slid his shorts passed his hips to free his manhood and straddled it. He moaned and grabbed my
hips as I begin to rock back and forth. I pressed my body harder into his as we moved. Kirk kissed
me and fondled me. He lifted my gown over his head and suckled my breasts. I cradled his head
and, together, we moved.
*Brother . . .*
I kept my cries of joy low just incase people in the neighboring rooms could hear. My brow
creased. I was getting close. I bit my lower lip and moaned when I came. My brother shut his eyes
and sighed when he felt it.
*Dear sister o' mine, you appease me.*
When my orgasm ceased, Kirk made love to me til he exploded. My brother laid me back on the
bed gently. He turned me on my side and continued his love-making. Grabbing onto my waist, he
moved in and out of me. I laid there and let him have his way with me. His pace accelerated. I
moaned more for encouragement. Soon, my brother's throbbing cock detonated inside me again.
He groaned and sprayed every last drop inside of my cunt.
Kirk didn't leave my room until a few hours later.
For the next few weeks, we accompanied Muryo on business trips and at meetings. Almost all of
Yunzi's employees feared us. We were well respected and given the best of everything.
One day, Muryo called us to his office. We obliged and stood before him.
"There is a new threat to Yunzi corporations. A rebel group with a massive population has taken
over a town and is using it as a temporary headquarters. From what my spies tell me, their
intentions are negative and harmful to me and the people in my district." Muryo said. He pressed
a button on his desk and a holographic map appeared before us. "The area they have taken over is
just northwest of here in the town of Nundae."
The map changed to a picture of a rough looking man in his forties. His missing left ear caught my
attention.
"This is their leader, Arnald. Your mission is to capture Arnald and bring him back here for
questioning. You are to use any means necessary. Destroy anyone or anything that stands in your
way. You will be in charge of 4,000 men. You are to leave tonight at 2200 hours. You
should arrive there around 0300. Attack at once." Muryo instructed. "Think you can handle it?"
"Yes sir!" My brother and I said in unison.
"I knew I could count on you." Muryo waved us away. "Dismissed."
My brother and I nodded and teleported out of the room.
As commanded, Kirk and I led the 4,000 troops northwest to the town of Nundae. We slowly
traveled in hover ships. Some of the men were on foot. In my mind, I felt slightly overwhelmed
with pressure. My brother was there to offer me comfort and encouraged me to stay calm. I was
pleased that he was by my side.
Five miles away from Nundae, we rested and sent a scout ahead to check out the condition of the
town. He returned an hour later with a small regiment of Arnald's followers close behind him. I
made sure none of them made it back to town to sound the alarm of our arrival.
With information from the scout, we broke off in two groups. My brother led half of Muryo's
army east of the town while I continued advancing from the south. We remained hidden behind a
small hill and waited cautiously until Kirk reached his position.
*Are you ready, Sis?*
*As always. Arnald is holding up in the elder's house. I'll meet up with you there.*
*All right. We'll draw their attention to the east first and I'll signal you to attack from the south.*
*Right. Go!*
"Get ready." I told the Captain. "We're going in as the second wave as soon as my brother signals
us."
The Captain saluted me and followed my orders. "Ma'am!"
I turned to watch the town. Shortly, Arnald's men went on alert and many of them disappeared to
the sides. I saw fireballs shoot from the sky and explosions roared from the inside.
*Now, Sis!*
I rose into the air and aimed my shrunken toward Nundae. "Forward charge!"
All two-thousand men crawled to their feet and raced toward the town screaming. Arnald's
followers were taken completely off guard. I spotted a few Gundi's shooting level 1 fireballs at us.
"Magic barrier multiply!" I shouted.
The Gundi's attacked bounced off of my soldier's like rubber balls. By the time Arnald's men
realized that we were coming, we had already entered the gates. I flew above the battle and
dropped down on any enemy that caught my eye. I joined the battle with my weapon when I
found my brother. The town was large and difficult to navigate through.
*I don't think Arnald is at the elder's house anymore.*
Four men tired to surround me. When they were close enough, I split my shrunken into two and
spun a around with my arms extended.
"Tornado!" I cried.
Every man lost his head. I stopped spinning and snapped my weapon back into place. My brother
finished off a man and started on the next. Gundi's were flying overhead, blasting our army to
pieces. I shot up into the air.
"Silence!"
The Gundi's magic was no more. They plummeted to the ground.
Through the raging battle, I saw a few fleeing civilians hiding between a couple of buildings.
To avoid being followed, I teleported there, nearly scaring them to death in the process.
"I'm not going to hurt you." I said to them. "Just tell me where Arnald is hiding."
The older man spoke up first. "He was in the elder's quarters but he ran to the barn after you
people showed up."
*Kirk. The barn!*
Abandoning his fight with an enemy soldier, Kirk shot into the air with me and we flew together
to the large barn on the outskirts of town. I saw Arnald and a few of his men run into it ahead of
us.
"There he goes." I pointed.
Just as my brother and I honed in on the building. It began to shake and fell apart before our very
eyes. A large robotic dragon rose to it's hind legs. It snarled and snorted fire. The gigantic
creature turned to face us. I could see Arnald laughing maniacally in the cock pit. The dragon shot
a fireball at the both of us. Luckily, we evaded it.
"Fire Chain!" Kirk sent the spell raging toward Arnald.
The dragon reared up and flapped the fire away with it's wings.
As I charged it from behind, the mechanical monster swung its tail. I teleported out of the way
and held out my hands.
"Snakel Smack!" I yelled.
The dragon used it's wings for a shield.
*We are going at this all wrong.*
*What should we do? We can't kill him. Muryo wants him alive. If we use our more advanced
magic, we could destroy him.*
*Unless . . .*
*What?*
*Laurie, cast a Magic shield on Arnald. A powerful one.*
*Okay.*
"Golden Wall!"
A transparent golden colored shield surround the cockpit of the machine. Arnald looked around
confused. I concentrated on the barrier while my brother cooked up a spell. Black clouds covered
the sky and thunder filled the air.
Lightening struck the huge machine. I could see the control panel in front of Arnald sizzle.
Electrical currents ran through the machine. It sparked and started to burned in several places.
Arnald was screaming a shouting verbal swears. Piece by piece, the machine started to fall apart.
Arnald and the cock pit were saved by my shield.
*Great plan!*
*Only from the best.*
When we returned to the town, we discovered our soldiers were victorious. Taking the prisoners
and their corrupt leader, we marched back to the city proud. Our first job was a total success.
After a long night of love-making, I laid on my brother's chest and thought about home and our
family.
*Dear brother, in what way do you love me?*
*What brought this up?*
*Just curious. In what way do you love me?*
*I care about you as a lover and most of all, a sister. Don't you feel the same way about me?*
*Of course I do. That makes us a couple then.*
*What is upsetting you?*
*I don't think Mom and Dad will agree with our choices for mates. We are blood.*
*. . . I know that. Mom and Dad will just have to learn to understand.*
After our mission with Arnald, my brother and I were given permission to leave Muryo's side and
remain home for the week. I sent a letter home in advance to warn of our arrival.
When we got there, we both noticed drastic changes. The money we sent them had gained the
house a second story. The back yard had become a garden of many flowers and even a fountain.
Our old tree houses, now wrinkled with age, were still in their separate trees on opposite sides of
the yard. The house had been completely redesigned and refurnished. I couldn't believe my eyes
when I saw it.
Mom, Dad, Collen and his girlfriend were there to greet us. Tears of joy were shed and a private
welcome home party had begun. Mom was alone in the kitchen doing something when I walked
in.
"Honey, you said at the bottom of your message that you had something to tell me and your
father?"
"Oh, yeah." I swallowed hard.
*I'm telling mom. Tell dad.*
*Right.*
"A lot has been going on since we left home and all." I paused.
"Like what dear?" Mom said, totally unaware that this was hard for me.
"During that time, me and my brother have become far more closer than ever."
"Ha!" Mom joked. "If you two were any closer you would be a couple. Married even."
"Well," I hesitated, "we are."
Mom froze.
She turned around slowly and looked at me. "What?"
"Well, we aren't married but, Kirk and I are a couple." I repeated.
There was fear in Mom's eyes. "You mean like a couple of lean, mean, killing machines, right? A
deadly duo thing?"
I could feel my brother getting scared.
I shook my head. "No. Kirk and I are lovers."
Mom pressed a hand to her chest and leaned forward a bit. I tried to help her but she backed
away, grabbing onto the sink for support.
"Stay away from me!" She cried. "Just stay away!"
I could hear Dad yelling curse words from the front of the house.
*This is bad.*
Soon, Dad came storming into the room. Mom ran over to him and fell into his arms. Kirk came
in and stood by me.
"I don't believe this! You are brother and sister for goodness sake!" Mom shrieked.
"We are aware of that fact." Kirk said.
"It just happened." I said.
"What just happened?!" Dad was outraged. "You've slept together too?"
Both of us hesitated a second too long.
"That is just sick!" Mom screamed.
"Get out!" Dad snapped.
"But Dad-" My brother started.
"OUT!" He was red in the face.
Mom fell into his arms weeping. Collen and his girlfriend came rushing into the room. He looked
around curiously.
*Come on Sis . . . *
I looked at my younger brother for the last time. Kirk and I turned our eyes away and teleported
out of the house for good.
Without a word to each other, we returned to Muryo's office.
"What are you two doing here?" He asked, curiously. "I thought you were going home to see
your family?"
"We have no family." My brother said.
My head was turned away so that he could not see my saddened face. I could feel Muryo's eyes
on me. They burned into me like flaming arrows. I wished he would stop.
"We would like to get back to work as soon as possible." Kirk said.
"Very well then." Muryo said. "I'm going to send a team of researchers to a town not too far
from here in a couple of days. Escort them and make sure they get there safely."
"Yes, sir." My brother replied.
Muryo looked at me again. "Dismissed."
We teleported out of the room. I went straight to the bed room and threw myself on the pillows. I
heard my brother come into the room and sit down on the bed. He touched my side when I started
to weep freely.
*We aren't too bad off, Sis.*
I didn't respond.
My brother laid beside me and held me close.
*We still have each other. That's all that matters now.*
He was right. There was no way that Mom and Dad would change their minds about us. I wasn't
angry with my parents. The harsh rejection they inflicted on us was just too much for me to
handle. I knew that they would be shocked and appalled but not this way. We were banned from
our own home. Exiled from the family and forgotten about. I didn't think I would ever get over
the pain.
I could tell my brother was upset too. Although he was not showing it, he was hurting deeply on
the inside.
I don't know how long we stayed like that. I had fallen asleep and awoke late in the night in the
gentle arms of my brother. We were naked and holding each other. I recalled the memory of what
we did to ease our minds.
Touching my stomach, I cast the birth control spell. My brother awoke from his sleep.
*Feeling better?*
*A little. It still hurts.*
*Don't worry Sis. I still love you.*
*And I love you.*
We tightened our grip around each other.
*Make love to me Brother . . . please.*
*As you wish, little sister . . .*
We made love a lot that night. It was the only thing that could numb our grief. But sex alone
would not do it. My brother and I concentrated more on fighting and war than anything else.
Without a reason to live other than ourselves, we fought unmercifully and were practically ready
to die. Our jobs and our love for each other is all that we had left.
We decided not to leave the city after all and had our contracts extended.
In our awakening, people started to question our identities more and more. My brother and I
changed our names based on our favorite attack spells. Kirk and I had become Flare and Ivy.
Muryo agreed fully. He discarded all of our dental and medical records. Our whole life was
erased. Only Muryo held the single copy of our personal profile.
Our true identities were kept a secret. We remained silent whenever anyone asked us a question.
Muryo would always take the attention away from us if the press got too pushy. We were idolized
and put on the news or in the paper. We didn't want the publicity but it was unavoidable.
We helped Muryo expand his territories by thousands of acres in all directions. Our jurisdiction
had increased to dire heights compared to regular employees at Yunzi. Everyone grew silent
whenever we entered the room. They would all look at us and shake if we even glanced at them.
It was fun to watch them do it I admit.
It had been almost three years since we were exiled from the Madison lineage.
My brother and I were asleep in each other's arms when we heard two large explosions from
somewhere in the city. The bio-lab and genetics laboratory had been bombed. Muryo set up a
regiment of soldiers to go to both places. He sent us ahead to check it out.
I flew west over the city to the genetics laboratory while Flare went to the bio-lab.
When I got there, the building was hardly recognizable. Who could have done this? They had to
have very powerful magic to level a building so huge. I hovered slightly above the ground and
looked for the bombers.
I noticed a couple of shadows on the ground near me. I looked up and saw two men flying in the
sky above me. I backed away and flew up to their height.
One man had long purple hair. The other had brown hair. Both men were tall and had a muscular
build. They wore identical black and gray uniforms that covered everything except their arms and
head. Each had a set of black and silver wings protruding out of their backs. Their eyes looked
like stone.
I had heard of their species before but never had I seen one. Sundruffs were a dying race that
were hated by most if not all humans. Their hate was just as great.
"So this is the dreaded Ivy? You are just a wee-little thing aren't you. I was expecting someone
bigger but you'll have to do," said the brown-haired one. He looked me over. "Nice package."
"Leave this place now or else I will be forced to kill you." I said.
The Sundruff turned his nose in the air. "Try it. I want to see what you can do."
I pointed at them. "Snakel Spin!"
A vine with poisonous needles shot out of the ground and came at them in a spiral formation. The
Sundruffs flew out of the way.
"Earth attacks? How pitiful!" He said and raised his hand to me. "Static Shock!"
"Magic Barrier!" I shouted.
The bolts of lightening reflected off of me and went straight back to their owner. He dodged them
and smiled.
"How cute. The little girl can hold her own." He remarked. "Not bad for a babe like you."
I noticed that the man with purple hair had not made a move yet. He sat back and watched me
fight his comrade. Just what was he up to?
*Ivy, are you alright?*
The Sundruff shot another bolt of lightening at me. I intercepted it with the same spell.
*So far. I'm fighting couple of male Sundruffs. I don't know where they came from. Ugh! But
they sure are tough.*
*I know. Reinforcements are on their way. Hang on til then.*
*Sure thing Flare. Piece of cake.*
I heard a beeping noise coming from the other Sundruff above me. I took a moment to look at
him. He took out wallet sized machine and looked at the screen.
"Is it there?" The brown-haired one asked him.
The purpled-haired one smiled. "Yes. We have to leave now."
I saw something come at me from the corner of my eye. I barely dodged it. It was a dart.
"Damn it! I missed," said the first Sundruff.
*What the hell was that for?*
"We have no time. Let's go." He said and rose higher into the air.
The other winked at me and followed him. I was about to chase them but thought better of it.
*Flare! They left.*
*So did the ones over here.*
*What do we do now?*
*We have to report to Muryo. We'll meet up there.*
*Right.*
My brother and I arrived in Muryo's office.
"Who were they?" He asked.
"Sundruffs, sir. Three males, one female." I said.
"Do you have any idea of what they wanted?"
"We're not sure. But they used instruments on us that could read or sense our telepathy." Flare
told him.
"They had plenty of advanced attacks for mere Sundruffs." I added. "They left both buildings in
ruins."
"Telepathy reading machines and special attacks." Muryo looked down in thought. "I believe we
have a new threat. Someone is trying to study you and find out your weaknesses. Your personal
information was once held in those buildings. I think that is what they were looking for."
*Study us?*
"Did they say anything else? Something of value?" Muryo asked.
"The female said someone named Ramire was right about our telepathy." Flare said.
"Ramire." Muryo repeated. "Sounds familiar.
"Your orders sir?" I asked.
"Be cautious with whoever you do battle with in the future but don't let it hinder your fighting
ability. If they show up again, do not use your telepathy. You can fight them but don't get
yourself killed. Understood?"
"Yes, sir!" We said in unison.
"You may leave."
My brother and I teleported out of the room.
The security around the city had increased. Muryo suspected an inside job and had everyone's
background re-checked.
A month later, someone reported that a terrorist group had invaded a small village on the
outskirts of the city. Muryo ordered that I take a group of soldiers to the town and save them.
Flare, on the other hand, had to accompany Muryo to meet other world famous leaders.
I didn't mind being away from my brother. I wouldn't be gone long. It would be nice to leave the
city and get some fresh air. When we were getting close, I sent a scout ahead to have a look at the
village. He came back to us about two hours later.
"What did the scout say?" I asked the Captain.
"Ma'am, the scout claims that the town was empty. No one is patrolling or even seems to be
living there."
"What?" How could that be possible? Something was up and I did not like it. "Rally the troops,
we're going in for a closer look."
We marched to the town cautiously. There was no sign of life nor that the town had been
attacked. I had a bad feeling. My army and I headed for the town square.
"Spread out and look for survivors." I commanded. "If anyone sees or hears anything notify me at
once."
I rose in the air to have a look around. There was nothing. The village was a ghost town. Where
were all of the people? I floated back to the ground.
The captain saluted me. "Ma'am, no sign of the villagers."
"Check again. They may be hiding." I had my doubts but I needed answers.
A soldier screamed out in the distance. The captain and I looked up. Another scream came from
behind us and to the side. Something flew by me to quick for me too see. The captain was gone.
Only his boots remained. I took a step back.
"Ready yourselves men! It's a trap!" I cried.
"Ma'am! Behind you!"
I turned around to the sound of gunfire. There was a blackish blur racing toward me. I leapt out
of the way.
"What the hell was that?" I said.
"Ms. Ivy! Watch out! Ugggghhhh!!" A soldier planted himself in front of me and was struck
down by a lightning arrow.
I gasped.
Angry now, I hovered in the air. "Show yourself and fight!"
More of my men went down, their screams cut short. I could see the blur now. It came straight at
me. I raised my palm.
"Mega Burst!"
Multiple balls of energy fired at the mysterious blur. The figure dodge everyone and ran right into
me. I felt hands pushing on both of my shoulders. I opened my eyes and saw the brown-haired
Sundruff grinning at me. I gasped and he let go of me. I slammed into a wooden building.
"A Sundruff!" I heard the soldiers say.
"We have to protect Ivy. Kill him!"
"No!" I cried trying to get to my feet. "He'll kill you!"
My other soldiers opened fire on my attacker. He just snickered and blasted into the air spinning.
He dove down and swooped pass all six men. Their upper bodies separated from their legs and
they fell into a mass of gore on the ground.
I flew away from the building and looked around for the Sundruff. My lip was bleeding and my
leg ached. There was no time to heal myself.
"Where are you!" I called.
I saw him coming at me. He was too fast for me to react. He drove me into the ground on my
back, landing on top of me. We skidded to a halt.
More soldiers from around town arrived and opened fire on him. The purple haired Sundruff
appeared and cast Barrier on us. He pushed both palms forward.
"Pyramid Brand!"
A large pyramid like fire incased the soldiers and turned them into charred pieces of flesh. In my
weakened state, I could not move. The Sundruff seemed to take pleasure in watching me struggle.
"Get off of me!" I threatened.
*Help me! Oh please! Help!*
"Shhhh." He hissed. He reached into his pocket and put patch like object on the back of my
neck. I could feel the cold metal on the sticker touch my skin. "You might as well get used to it."
A third Sundruff with red hair appeared next to the purple haired one. "I took care of the rest of
them and sent one back with a message."
"Good. We have to get out of here." Replied the purple-haired one.
He turned and looked at me. "Is that her?"
"Yes. They maybe powerful creatures but it is easy to dent them." He rose into the air. "Let's
go."
They were going to take me somewhere? I tried to teleport but it wasn't working.
*Brother! Help!*
He did not answer me. I couldn't feel him anymore.
*Flare! Help me! Help me!*
The one holding me down threw me in the air and punched me as I came down. "Shut up!"
It hurt so much. I fought to focus my eyes. I blacked out for a second. When I opened my eyes, I
was being carried away into the sky. The city was far behind us. Where were they taking me?
Where was my brother? I shut my eyes and passed out.
When I woke up, my eyes hurt and my head was heavy. I tried to move my arms but they
wouldn't budge. That is when I realized that my legs and wrists were bound together. My hands
were chained together above my head and my legs from somewhere below.
I looked around the room. I was in a cave of some sort. Candles and bowls of burning oil lit the
room.
"Hello!" The brown-haired Sundruff appeared right above my face.
Startled, I jumped. He laughed at me.
"Now, now Quik." Came a mysterious voice. "We can't be upsetting our guest."
A man about seven feet tall entered the room with the other two male Sundruffs and female in
tow. He looked like he was in his mid forties. He had short gray hair and a long solid face. His
robes were of white and silver.
Who was this person? What were they going to do with me? I looked around the room. Where
was I? Where was my brother?
*Flare, where are you?*
I heard a device beep from somewhere in the room.
The tall man came over to me. "That won't work. He can't hear you."
How did he know I was trying to reach Flare?
"What do you want with me?" I glared.
"It's not what we want with you, it's what we want from you." He said with a smile.
I didn't understand. I had nothing of value. I started to think of a way of escape.
"I am Ramire Kudros. You have already met my associates." He went to the brown haired one.
"This is Quik."
The Sundruff winked at me and smiled.
Ramire went to the red haired one. "Wolf."
He eyed me uncomfortably.
Ramire touched the purple haired one's shoulder. "Palatou."
His face was as cold as ice. Ramire came to the female.
"And the sinister one of he group, Rose."
She nodded.
"We have a little experiment we must conduct." Ramire told me.
"What does it have to do with me?" I asked simply, my hard look never quavered.
"Everything." He looked me over. "It is a cross-breeding experiment."
I glanced briefly at the three male Sundruffs and back to him. He smiled at me as if he knew what
I was thinking.
"He'll come for me and he'll kill you, all of you." I warned.
"And when he comes, we'll be ready for him." He turned to leave. "Get to it."
The female smiled at me and followed him out of the door.
Wolf sighed. "Who wants to go first?"
Quik stepped forward eagerly. "I guess I'll go first."
They freed my legs and tied my wrists to a long chain that was attached to the ceiling. After Quik
successfully raped me, I preformed my birth control spell. After careful inspection, they
discovered that I had undone his evil work. Palatou went next. I destroyed his seed too. Then it
was Wolf gave it a try but he had no luck. They gave be a drug that would make me "easier" to
seduce. I had to resist them.
Hours went by at least 24 of them. They were beginning to get frustrated.
"Useless whore!" Wolf pushed me down on the ground.
I sat there and tried to stop crying.
Wolf went over to Palatou and Quik leaning against the wall. I didn't know how long I could hold
out. Those drugs that they gave me were strong and hard to fight. I was starting to grow weak
from it all and I had not slept since I got there. They started to take longer breaks in and had them
more often. I prayed that they would give up soon.
Wolf had just finished his fifth turn with me. Palatou, who didn't seem like he was really
interested in humans, made love to me only twice. Quik was going on his seventh round.
I knew if I passed out, they would have there way with me and the reproduction process would
go beyond my powers. My birth control spells were my only defense against them. As a result, I
had been beaten and battered.
The female Sundruff entered the room. Her wings were gone and she looked like a normal human.
"Hello children." She said cheerily. She looked at their annoyed faces and then looked at me.
"Don't tell me you haven't impregnated her yet."
"She's more resistant than we thought. We've drugged and mated with her several times." Wolf
said. "She uses some type of magic to reverse the effects."
"Silence her then."
"We've tried that already. Abnormal spells don't work on her. She's too strong. The vice does
not diminish her powers fully." Palatou said.
Quik looked at her. "You look successful, Rose."
Rose placed her hands on her hips and gave them a cocky grin. "Of course."
"Some have all the luck." Wolf remarked.
"That's the beauty of it. I found out a few things from our little human friend." Rose walked over
to me. "This little witch and he are lovers."
She pulled my hair for emphasis. I growled.
"Told you so, Palatou." Quik grinned.
Rose walked away and leaned against a rock.
"Not only that, Flare and Ivy are just cover names for their true identities; Laurie and Kirk
Madison." She sat on the rock. "Brother and sister."
Quik looked irritated.
Palatou glanced at him. "We were both right."
I felt humiliated and angry. That thing had taken advantage of my brother. I wondered if he was
still alive.
"How interesting." Came a voice.
Palatou, Rose, Quik, and Wolf saluted Ramire as he entered the room. I wrapped myself up into a
ball and mustered up what dignity I had left.
He looked at me and then to Rose. "Tell me more."
"I doubt they grew from the earth. They must have family somewhere." Rose answered.
"Wolf, Quik, look into it. Rose, take care of her." Ramire turned and left the room. "Come with
me Palatou."
Quik winked at me and left followed by Wolf and Palatou. I could see Rose looking at me in the
corner of my eye. She smiled when I looked at her.
"You have such an amazing brother, Laurie. Such ripe fruit for a human." She looked at the
ceiling in thought. "He adores me, you know?"
Out of anger, I made a small attempt to burn her hair. But only a few strands caught fire. She
patted it out quickly. With a growl she thrust her palm out to me. I flew backwards a bit on my
stomach.
"Let's keep this friendly shall we?" She said calmly.
I looked up at her indignantly and sat down again.
"You really should not refuse the others you know. All three are very fertile." Rose nodded. "In
my opinion, Palatou is a catch, but I think Quik likes you, even if you are a human."
"Why are you doing this?" I asked quietly.
She seemed pleased I was talking to her. "To survive of course."
My silence must have told her I was confused. She sighed and got comfortable.
"If you haven't noticed, the population of Sundruffs is dying out. There are less than fifty of us in
the world." Rose explained.
"I see."
"I guess there is no reason why I shouldn't tell you the whole story."
She pulled her legs up to her chest.
"As you know, Sundruffs were here a five-thousand years before humans. We lived together in
peace until humans started to kill us for our beliefs. The only Sundruffs left, live in fear and we
hide ourselves from humans. Our main purpose is to replenish the Sundruff population and
finished what we started." Rose explained.
I was barely amused. "Then what's keeping you?"
"Humans such as yourself." Her voice was raspy. "Humans are evolving at a far quicker rate than
us Sundruffs. They are getting more powerful and superior every year. At these estimates, we will
be extinct in twenty or so years. We tried everything, even making mandatory breeding laws for
our females to have at least twenty children in their life span. The project failed because we
became exhausted and started to die. We don't have the brains to conduct artificial insemination."
"What does this have to do with my brother and I? Why are we here?"
"We formed an alliance with a clever human. At first, we were killing evolved humans while they
were still young and stupid. But then Ramire told us not to kill them, but to let them grow. We
had to help him if he would help us. Ramire's plan is somewhat like our original one. He selected
the strongest male and female Sundruffs and took us under his wing. We didn't trust him at first,
but he had a point. He needed a manipulator, which is me; a fast flyer, which is Quik; a good
magic user, Wolf; and a strong one, Palatou." Rose smiled. "We have been watching you and your
brother in action for a few months. That is how we know your weaknesses. Ramire determined
that you were the strongest in your species. If we cross bred the best with the best, our species
will advance even farther and faster than yours."
I was horrified.
Rose touched her stomach gently.
"I am already pregnant by your brother. I'll be giving birth in about eight weeks." She glanced up
at me. "It'll take a little longer for you. But, since you are evolved, it may be shorter. Whose to
say?"
This was bad. I tried to keep calm in front of my adversary.
"You must be wondering about my missing wings. Our females shed them before we mate, that
way our bodies can pay more attention to our babies without taking strength away from our
bodies."
I put my head down. A million thoughts were flooding into my mind at once.
"Why would Ramire do something like that?" I whispered.
"The man you work for, Muryo Yunzi, is his half-brother. Ramire was the first born and heir to
the corporation. But their father had grown closer to Muryo and left it to him instead. Ramire
tried to reason with Muryo but he was selfish and kept it for himself." Rose explained. "Once my
child is born, we will take Yunzi by storm and Ramire will take control. With his army of blood
thirsty Sundruffs, he can easily take over this world."
I felt like I was going to be sick. Take over the world?
Rose turned her head to one side. "Would you like to see your brother?"
I raised my head.
"I can show you to him if you want?" She said.
I nodded, unsure if she was telling the truth.
Rose waved her hand across the air. A misty picture formed before us. It cleared and there he
was. My brother was laying on a bed, fully clothed, dreaming of something wonderful. He looked
so precious. I tried to crawl over to him, but my chains restricted me from doing so. I watched
him from a far.
"Falling in love with each other was a wise move." Rose said. "Any child with genes from you
both would be remarkable."
I didn't respond.
Rose stood and picked up a long piece of cloth hanging from a nail in the corner of the room. She
tossed it at me.
"Put it on." She said. I covered myself. "They're almost here."
"Who?"
I heard muffled cries coming from the hall. Wolf and Quik appeared dragging Mom, Dad, and
Collen behind them. Each were gagged and bound.
"Mom! Dad! Brother!" I cried.
Ramire entered the room and Rose left silently.
"I think you know what the deal is. Cooperate or we will kill them one at a time." His face looked
serious. "Make your decision."
Mom and Dad were whimpering and pleading for me to save them with their eyes. Collen was
calmer but I knew he was scared. For the first few seconds, I was scared for their lives. But then
the memories flooded back into my mind.
'You are brother and sister for goodness sake!'
Did they not believe that we had thought of that already? That we had to decided whether or not
our love was true? Why couldn't they understand what we were going through? Couldn't they
understand that this was hard for us?
At that moment, I didn't care if they died. I wanted my parents to die.
I looked at my younger brother. He never did anything. Even after I left him for Kirk, he was
always good to me. He never complained are argued with me. I don't understand why I left him in
the first place. Collen didn't deserve to die.
Ramire looked at Dad. "Wolf."
Wolf went over to Father and took hold of his head. His neck made a loud cracking sound. Mom
screamed through her gag and tumbled over on his body. Quik pulled her away from him.
This was bad. I knew Collen would after Mom. I shut my eyes and looked away.
*Brother!*
There was no answer.
*Kirk! Hear me!*
The device on Palatou's belt beeped several times. He looked at it.
"That is useless." Ramire said. "He can't hear you."
I ignored them and continued calling for Kirk.
*Brother! Wake up! Come out of your trance! They're tricking you! Kirk! Come back to me!*
The device beeped simultaneously.
Ramire nodded to Quik. My mother's cry was cut short as another cracking sound filled my ears.
Collen was going to be next. I had to reach my brother. Collen must live.
*KIRK!*
"It's off the charts." Palatou reported.
The beeps had become one long note. It started to spark. The Sundruff dropped it and it exploded
when it hit the ground.
An invisible wind blew.
*Laurie!*
*Kirk!*
*Where are you?*
*I don't know. Find me quick! They're going to kill Collen!*
*I'll be right there!*
The wind grew stronger and stronger. The shackles around my wrists were a glowing hot blue
color. The cloth around me started to smolder.
Ramire and the Sundruffs shielded their eyes from the dirt and debris flying around the room.
I shut my eyes.
The cloth caught fire and started to burn. I was incased in a blue fire ball but I felt no pain. All my
love, all my anger, and all my hate filled my heart. I flung my arms out and giant wave of energy
spread out to all corners of the room. Everyone was knocked off their feet. Collen was okay.
I stood, my head hung low. I opened my eyes and glared at the Sundruffs. Ramire was no where
in sight. My eyes were glowing a beautiful blue. A matching aura radiated off of my naked body.
The shackles on my wrists were gone.
I was loose.
"Cool down, sister!" Quik cast an ice spell.
It bounced off of me.
"Oh shit." He dashed out of the room.
Palatou and Wolf followed him.
I went over to my little brother. He was laying on the ground with his eyes shut. I kneeled, wiped
the his hair out of his face, and removed his gag.
"Collen . . ." I whispered.
He opened his eyes and looked at me. "Laurie . . . I've missed you."
I smiled and started to remove his bonds. "Not as much as I've missed you."
"You left without saying goodbye." He sat up. "And then you never came back to visit me."
"I'm sorry." I said. "Thanks for not being angry with me."
He smiled and so did I.
"Laurie!"
It was Kirk. He ran through the door. I stood and hugged him. Kirk embraced me tightly and
kissed my cheek.
"I'll never let you go again!" He vowed.
We kissed.
"We have to hurry! They're going to attack Muryo and Rose is pregnant!" I said.
"I know. She told me everything." Kirk said. "She's dead. We have to get the others before it's
too late."
*What about Collen?*
*Think we can teleport him to Muryo?*
*Maybe. He can give him a heads up. Smart as always.*
*I know.*
I turned to Collen. "We're going to transport you outside of Yunzi head quarters. We need you to
tell Muryo that the Sundruffs are planning to attack under the leadership of Ramire and to send
troops to the Hjistam Canyon."
He nodded.
Kirk and I kneeled on both sides of him. Together, we concentrated. I wished for Collen to be
safe at the headquarters. Slowly, Collen started to disappear. A few seconds later, he was gone.
"I hope he's all right." I said.
Kirk took my arm and stood with me. "He's okay. Let's go."
I pulled back. "Wait."
I brushed his face lightly. Without hesitation, he kissed me passionately. It felt so good to be back
in his arms again. I had been raped so many times that I almost forgot what he felt like. His
warmth in my soul had returned. My brother was back. If there were only time for love making,
we would be doing it right now. But we would have to wait til this was over.
We held each other tightly. The floor beneath us glowed.
*Do you feel it Sister?*
*Yes . . . It is time . . . .*
The air around us intensified and swirled.
Our existence does not matter now. Others will be born, some as we speak.
To insure that they will live, we will give up our own.
We were incased in a white light.
*We are the first Neo-humans to reach our full potential, and for that we have to protect those
younger than us.*
I shut my eyes momentarily and buried my face in Kirk's chest. I didn't move until it all stopped. I
opened my eyes to find my brother as naked as I was. The area around us was empty. There was
nothing but white as far as the eye can see.
*Where are we?*
*We are in an alternate dimension where time and space do not exist.*
All this unexplainable information filled my head. Things I never knew of or ever thought of
before had been plastered into my brain.
*Yes.*
But why was Kirk naked? Oh I see, I thought.
Our Mother Earth was changing soon and all of her children must evolve with her. But like all
animals, expanding the population is our one main goal. Soon the big businesses and worldly
things will not matter. That is why we had our powers. Neo-humans will be the superior species
and get along with nature instead of destroying it. But for now, our key objective was to . . . to
mate.
My brother and I looked at each other the safe time. I could tell we were both thinking the same
lustful thoughts. I realized that I had to be fruitful. I had to become a rabbit til the planet changed.
That is why my brother and I were in love with each other. It was meant to be that way.
I stared into his beautiful indigo eyes. "Make me a mother, Brother . . ."
He nodded once and leaned forward to kiss me.
Our lips locked.
Kirk laid me gently on the floor which turned soft and padded. My brother crawled in between my
legs and slid himself into me slowly. I squeezed my eyes shut. His hands found mine and we
moved together. Even though our motions were slower than usual, it felt like a lot was being done
to me at once. Our moans were small and our breathing was in perfect sync.
This was our mating ritual. The Neo-human dance of love.
Each throbbing move of his penis sent tremors up my body. In less than a few seconds, a wave of
fresh sperm swam through me. I was pregnant almost instantly.
We stopped, neither tired nor weak. Kirk stood and helped me to my feet.
The process of my pregnancy would only last for a while. In a month or so, I would be giving
birth to a Neo-human with strengths and powers like ours.
*It is finished.*
*Let us return now.*
There was another bright flash of light.
When we reappeared, we were on a cliff in the canyon. We were fully dressed in battle armor, our
weapons at our sides. There were several Sundruffs hovering in the distance. They were gathered
in cluster around Quik, Palatou, and Wolf. A few wingless females were on the ground below
them. They had to go first.
*This is it, love. Are you ready?*
*Ready when you are.*
*Stay close to me. Don't take on anyone that you cannot handle. You and our child must live.*
*Our species must survive.*
Kirk made himself invisible and flew above the herd. I soon followed.
"Be cautious guys. They disappeared and they could be anywhere now." Wolf said.
"Watch out for the girl." Quik said. "She'll kill you in a flash."
I reappeared in the center of the circle of pregnant females. I unleashed my kiyo and spun around
in a complete circle. Their decapitated bodies fell to the ground.
The others above looked down in horror.
"Razor Flash!"
My brother had appeared above them and started a spell. I graciously moved out of the way.
"It's them! They're here!" They chanted and scattered.
I flew after a few of them.
"Whirlpool!"
My water spell came to life and engulfed three females.
I looked around, seeking out every female. I knew that without them, their race was beyond
doomed. One teamed up with a male and attempted to paralyze me. I dodged their attacks easily.
My condition had increased my powers somewhat. Some of my weaker attacks were having a
greater effect on the Sundruffs.
Just as I killed two more females. I heard something behind me. I turned around just in time to see
Quik reach out for me. He was too fast. He kept my arms at my sides and pushed me further away
from the battle.
The Sundruff landed on top of me, pinning me down with his weight. I struggled with him and
managed to get my arms free. I immediately started to thrash at him. He grabbed hold of my
wrists and held them down.
"Release me now or die!" I threatened.
*Kirk! Help me!*
The Sundruff smirked at me. "You're cute when you're angry."
He sniffed around me and turned up his nose.
"You're pregnant!" Quik crossed my wrists above my head with one hand and placed his other on
my stomach. "I'll fix that!"
At first, I didn't think he had the power to kill my child but then I started to feel something. He
was succeeding. Anger settled in. I could feel my body growing hot.
"NO!" My voice was deep.
A new energy hand released itself with me. I felt it pulsating in my veins. Quik stopped what he
was doing and looked at me with fear in his eyes. His face started to bubble and melt. He let go of
me and pulled at it. Blood started to ooze from the open sores.
"Burst!"
A light emitted from Quik's body. He then exploded into several gory chunks of flesh. I sat up
and tried to catch my breath. A few seconds later my brother appeared next to me and
disappeared with me in his arms. He teleported to a cliff away from the Sundruffs.
"Are you all right?" Kirk asked.
"Yes." I replied, breathing hard. "He was trying to kill the baby."
I could feel Kirk tense up. He was angry.
"But I didn't let him." I smiled, hoping that would calm him.
It worked.
He smiled. "Can you still fight?"
I nodded. "I just need to catch my breath."
"Okay," he said. "I'll be back to check on you."
My brother kissed me and teleported back to fight alone. I wrapped my arms around my stomach.
Quik's spell was having an affect on me. I relaxed my muscles and started a recovery spell.
It was a long time before the spell started to work. Slowly, the pain dissipated. I opened my eyes
and took a deep breath. When I looked to see my brother's progress with the fight, I was
shocked. The few remaining Sundruffs were beating Kirk. Palatou was one of them. I flew over to
help.
"Blazin' Flare! Snakel Smack!"
The Sundruffs were incased in flames and reduced to ashes. Palatou managed to evade my attack
and snuck up on me. He grabbed me by the throat and squeezed. Gagging, I tried to free myself.
He growled and whispered in my ear.
"Those were our last females!" He snapped. "I'll kill you for that!"
His grip around my neck tightened. I couldn't breathe!
"Static Shock!"
Palatou cried out and released me. I moved away and sucked in heaps of air. My brother had
came to my rescue. Bolts of electricity went through Palatou body. His eyeballs grew wide and
exploded. I looked away when the blood started to pour from his ears. When it was all over, his
body fell lifeless on the ground.
My brother sat down on a boulder, letting his bloody sword hang loosely from his hand. I sat next
to him and he held me in his arms.
"Are you both all right?"
"Yes. We are fine. Just need some rest and a healing spell." I touched our baby lightly.
We held each other tight and closed our eyes. A white aura started to twinkle around us. Our
combined healing powers started to regenerate our strength and heal our wounds. It was all over.
Soon, we would go back to Muryo with the good news.
I couldn't get over the sinking feeling that we had forgotten something.
"AARRGGG!"
My eyes shot open at the sound of my brother's cry. I saw someone approached me from the
corner of my eye. As I turned to look the person grabbed me and pulled me out of my brother's
grip. I screamed in pain when a heavy hand landed on one of my unhealed wounds. It started to
bleed freely. A hand clamped over my mouth and I was silenced.
I heard my brother screaming continuously. Several wounds in his back and side were gushing
with blood. Ramire stood over him smiling with a knife drenched in it. I wanted to run to him but
Wolf was holding me back. I kicked at him and screamed for Kirk. As a result, he struck me
several times to lull me. Battered and weak, I had no choice but to obey. Tears blocked my vision.
"You..." I heard my brother say.
"Yes. The true heir to Yunzi Corporations." Ramire glared.
"I see...do you really think that the Sundruffs....would let you.......a human.......have a piece of
their victory. That...." Through my clouded vision, I saw Kirk spit up blood. I could tell he was
attempting to heal himself but it was not enough. Without my help, he could not even have the
strength to stand. "after they reclaimed the world, they would let you rule it........A human that
has power?.....open your eyes, they've been plotting against you.....I know it....I feel it........"
I felt the Sundruff's body tense against mine. It was true.
"Whatever." Ramire turned to Wolf and I. "You are the last one. I expect you to finish the job as
soon as possible."
Wolf tightened his arms around me. "She pregnant already...."
"Find some way to kill it then! Just rape her!" Ramire snapped.
Wolf tensed again and nodded.
He carried me to another cliff behind a boulder. I fought with him the whole way. He rested on
top of me and proceeded to removing my clothes with eagerness. I screamed and struggled but I
was too weak. I could not fight him.
*Laurie...*
*Oh brother! I can't get away!*
Wolf forced my legs open with his hand and moved in between them. Laying a hand on my
stomach, he tried to kill the fetus inside me.
*Sister...I'm so sorry....forgive me....forgive me....*
*Oh no! Brother!*
I could feel my brother's life force weakening and slowly fading away. He was dying. I couldn't
help him. I couldn't move. I started to scream.
*Brother!*
*...dear sister....forgive me....I cannot go on.....don't let them win....remember.....that I love
you....and I am always with you.....*
There was less than an inch of life left in his body. I started to cry. Wolf, thinking I was crying
because of him, took pleasure in it and began to rape me. I fought to get up but he forced me
back down.
*NO! KIRK! DON'T LEAVE ME! KIRK! OH GOD, DON'T DIE!*
I felt Kirk's life force vanish.
He was gone.... My brother....was gone. The emptiness I felt before could not compare to what I
was feeling now. Kirk was dead... My older brother...lover....father of my child....was
dead....forever.
I stopped struggling under Wolf.
"That's better." He said and pinned my arms above my head. Even though his attempt to kill my
unborn baby failed, he continued on unknowingly. His hips grated into mine.
"Mmmpf....mmmph....mmmf..."
I couldn't believe it. I was alone.
*You are not alone...*
*Brother?!*
*Fight them, Laurie! You can do it!*
*But..how? I do not have the strength*.
*I promised my strength to you. You and I are one now. Heal yourself and fight them. I believe in
you.*
The emptiness was filled with something new. It was powerful and strong. I felt it flowing
through my veins. I could feel my brother inside of me. He was there with me. I could feel his
warmth. I could smell him. His strength and power was pumping through my veins.
I shut my eyes and let out a screeching wail. Wolf winched and covered his ears. The wind picked
up.
"What the hell!" He cried.
I opened my eyes and looked at him. They were black pools of nothingness, no whites. I
intensified the pitch of my scream. Wolf cried out and got away from me. I flexed my arms as my
golden brown hair turned into a silvery white.
I sat up, letting my head hang. The wind blew harder. I stopped screaming as an invisible force
lifted my limp form into the air. I let my head roll to look down below at Ramire who was on his
knees, trying not to be blown away. My head made a complete 180 turn to watch the wind pick
him up and throw him into the ground near Kirk's corpse. I rotated my body to fit my head.
"Thee who seek the deterioration of the human race whilst suffer a death of scourge and agony.
How do you plead?"
The voice was not just my own. Kirk was speaking as I spoke; saying what I was saying.
"Stupid bitch!" Wolf threw a fire ball at me.
I absorbed it and shot it back at him with ten times the force. He barely managed to dodge it with
minor injuries.
I raised arm limply and pointed at Kirk's body. He hovered in the air.
"Thou hath committed the murder of Kirk Madison. Therefore you will die."
Kirk's body disappeared with a twist of my hand.
"The time has come..."
I raised my arms to the skies. They became cloudy and gray. Lightening flashed overhead.
"Do something!" Ramire shouted.
"Fuck you human!" Wolf tried to take off.
Lightening struck his wings and feathers sprayed everywhere. Wolf howled in pain as he fell back
to the ground.
"I call upon the Ultimate Power, the power of Mother Earth and the virtues of love, strike down
the heathens before me so that we may live on."
Ground at the bottom of the canyon began to crack and crumble. There was a long deep growl. I
eyed my two foes and waited for my summon to emerge. A giant golem rose up and stood behind
me. It turned it's head to the sky and growled. Its eyes glowed red with hate.
I swear Ramire looked like he was having a heart attack. Wolf was crying and screaming with
fear.
"Wait! Wait! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I won't do it again! Please!" He begged.
I pointed at them. "Death to you!"
The golem raised a mighty fist and aimed it at the two evil-doers. Wolf scrambled to get out of
the way but there was no escape. The golem bashed them with his fist. His arm penetrated
through the ground and went in up to his shoulder. When he raised up, there was nothing left of
Ramire or the Sundruff but a dusty hole.
"Mother Earth thanks you for you and your brother's hard work. As I a reward, I belong to you
as your guardian." The golem spoke but his lips did not move.
"She is very welcome and too kind. I accept." My voice was back to normal.
"Call upon me and I shall be at your service." The golem disappeared into a sparkling mist that
circled around me.
I shut my eyes and let the wind blow through my hair. The mist circled around my wrist and
formed into a charm bracelet.
*Sis.*
I opened my eyes.
*Brother?!*
A transparent form appeared before me and materialized into my Kirk. He smiled at me and we
embraced.
*You're back!*
*Only for a little while.*
I pulled back to look at his face. *What? Why?*
*I died. My spirit must leave this world.*
I shook my head. *No. You have to stay! What about me? What about the baby?*
*You'll be fine and the baby too. I'll be watching over you both. I promise.*
No. He couldn't go. He just could leave me. Not like this. I hugged him again, tighter this time,
and savored the feeling of his warmth. Tears trickled down my cheeks.
*Don't forget me okay . . .?*
*Never.*
I started to cry. Kirk kissed me. I held him close and kissed him back. I don't know how long the
time had passed, but it was too short.
*It's time for me to go.*
*No . . .*
*I have to . . .*
I said nothing.
We parted slowly, never taking our eyes off one another. My lower lip trembled. I muffled a soft
cry with my hand. Kirk floated away.
"I love you." He said.
"I love you too." I called after him.
My older brother, my only love, disappeared into thin air.
I lowered myself to the ground, stood a moment, then collapsed engulfed in tears. There was a
noise behind me. I looked back. My brother's corpse had returned. I crawled over to him and
cradled his head in my chest. He was cold and limp. There was no warmth at all. His face was pale
and his chest did not rise or fall.
I held him tight and buried my face in his beautiful blue hair. The shine had left his strands. Dried
blood was at each corner of his mouth. I began rocking slowly and taking in the fact that he was
gone.
Far out in the distance, I could hear the blades of helicopters buzzing through the air.
Muryo, I thought.
I readjusted my grip on Kirk and waited. Four helicopters circled the air above me. The first one
landed near the hole, closest to me and my dead brother. The others landed further away. Muryo
was the first out. He stopped and stared for a moment then approached me. I didn't care about
my nakedness, my brother was gone.
Armed men and Gundis exited the other choppers and scanned the area for Sundruffs.
"Is he . . .?" He couldn't finish.
I only shut my eyes and turned my head away. Muryo sighed heavily. I knew he was searching for
something comforting to say. I didn't mind his silence. Nothing anyone could say would make me
feel better.
A man ran over with a blanket and handed it to Muryo. He kneeled next to me and threw it over
my shoulders. I guess I fell into him because the next thing I knew, I was crying in his arms. He
helped me stand and we walked to the helicopter together. Muryo silently signaled a few men to
take my brother away. I looked back once more. Muryo waited patiently.
Turning away, I let Muryo lead me to the chopper. He helped me in and stopped to talk to a man.
Afterward, he crawled in and sat next to me. We were the only ones there. The pilot took off and
headed for the city.
"I'm sorry about Kirk." Muryo said, putting his arm around me. "He shall have a proper burial.
My men will take care of him."
"Thank you . . ." I choked out.
He looked at me with sadness in his eyes. "You're welcome."
I don't remember how long I stayed in bed. I didn't want to talk to anyone. Collen was the only
one permitted in my room. He was all I had left . . . and the baby.
Muryo made an announcement to the public about Ramire's plan and the evil Sundruffs, leaving
out the part about Neo-humans. He told them about my fallen brother and our bravery in combat.
Kirk's funeral was held a few days later. People from miles away came to see him one last time. I
recognized a few. Most were people Kirk and I had saved from terrorists or protected from
enemy attackers. The whole Yunzi army was there along with the leaders of allied cities. It was
grand funeral.
Over time, Muryo had grown attracted to me. I knew his infatuation with me had been going on
longer than he had confessed. At first I was reluctant to respond because my brother was still in
my heart, but a dream helped me make my decision. I married Muryo a year and a half after Kirk's
death. In five years, I gave birth to eight of his children.
The public was dumbfounded and questions were brought up. Reports of children and teenagers
with supernatural abilities were coming in from all over the world. Muryo explained to the public
about Neo-humans. The crowd was appalled and didn't want to believe it. One reporter asked if I
was one of them. Muryo told the truth and they immediately asked for proof as if my nine children
weren't proof enough. I made a reporter levitate and put on a small light show to show that I was
not hostile. The reporter enjoyed his time. I carefully lowered him back to his seat.
"Is that proof enough?" I asked.
No one spoke a word.
Another reporter asked if Neo-humans were dangerous. Muryo made it clear that Neo-humans
weren't dangerous people and they were no different than anyone else. My husband reminded
them that every child born today was a Neo-Human, no matter who the parents were. There were
already millions of children in the world with powers like mine.
Muryo later created schools for Neo-Humans to help them learn how to control their powers and
use them in a positive way. I, of course, trained the older Neo-Humans for a while so they could
teach the younger children.
A few of Muryo's scientists asked for permission to study and research our third born. They were
fired immediately. Our species was not to be treated like lab rats, especially not our daughter. My
husband made it illegal to conduct scientific studies on Neo-humans in the city. The penalty was
twenty years in prison then exile.
As I suspected, there was a little racism against Neo-Humans. We were hated because we differed
slightly from them. But the change was so quick that no one could stop it. A defenseless looking
child could kill any attacker in the blink of an eye. The racist groups were a lost cause.
I had grown into a young woman, but I still looked like a teenager. I concluded that my kind aged
regularly at birth and slowed with time, which meant that we would last longer than regular
humans, but I would let the world find that out for itself.
Muryo was busy playing with the kids in the villa so I decided to slip outside for a moment to
think. We were on a family get-a-way in the mountains. The years past few years were stressful,
especially on us. Quiet time alone would do us justice.
"Mama?"
I looked down to see my eldest son at my side.
"Yes Patrick?" I asked the eight year old.
"What are you doing out here?"
"Just thinking."
There was a short silence.
*You're thinking about him again.* It wasn't a question.
I will admit, Patrick was as smart as his father was. I guess I spoiled him more than the other
children but I tried to spread my love equally between all of my offspring. I guess he and I shared
a bond that no one else had, like Kirk and I used to.
"Bright as ever." I took his hand and started to lead him away. "Come on. The others are
waiting."
We skipped all the way home.
