Love is sometimes not what it seems,

For a romantic, it sparkles and gleams,

Yet for a pessimist, it breaks and dies,

Leaving behind only angry cries.

Definitions of love are uncertain,

Changing constantly since time began,

For some, it's the best time of their life,

For others, all love brings is strife.

Love comes when you least expect,

Leaving no time to think and reflect,

It sweeps you up and then drops you,

Leaving you wondering what parts were true.

Experienced by everyone at some point,

Yet for some all it does is disappoint,

While some are living their only dream,

Other's are losing their self-esteem.

For love can bring hate when it fades,

Intruding into your soul, it invades,

And you're lost in the swirl of emotions,

Drowning in feelings, like oceans.
