For my Invisible Lover

Platonic Love, as many believe-

Are only for desperates and fools.

I was one of them.

One of the fools imprisoned by your heart.

People used to call me a temptation,

The pretty little devil teasing guys...

Now the greatest fool of fools,

Crazy because of love.

I painfully take all the ugly words.

Accepting them whole heartedly

Laughing at them like it's nothing,

But deep inside, I am badly wounded.

I beam at everyone around me,

But behind those smiles

Is a horrible clown.

Sleepless nights and restless days

Nothing new ever happened.

I walk on top of the world

Just like the everyday ritual it used to be.

Hungry for your presence,

Thirsty for some warmth of your caress,

Thinking what you're doing...

Wondering, if you're fooling me.

A thousand promises,

Countless sweet statements;

Telling me to be patient...

And I wait for the day,

The day we'll be together.

I stay motionless

As different strangers pass me by,

As the world keep on revolving.

I still wait. Anxious.

Will I ever see you...

Today?

Maybe tomorrow?

Or-

Never.
