The Cursed Siren
I am siren; this is my songAlone and saddened, a lover I seek
Here on this desolate island I belong
The stench of death on my islands reek
My song touches you in a way
A mortal woman could never reach
In your clouded mind my song a ray
Your love and flesh I beseech
You plunge to the green-blue that I callhome
Your mind in the now; not future or past
I can feel you begin to love to roam
But the thought fails as you sink fast
Bones litter my island shore
Those who have tried to fill my need
In my body, blood of a carnivore
One that desperately wants to feed
Your flesh strengthens my spell
And another one neglects me
Though you tried you failed
The warning too hard to see
I do not kill for fun
I fell in love, but wrong
The gods thought me shun
My punishment: a lure of song
I could not love a man
Until one who can resist me
And one who has not ran
That I have yet to see
You heard and tried to come
But you now lie all alone
Your fellows made it; some
While you sleep on the bone
The gods have cursed me
I needed and wanted you
The gods said punished be
And you died to who?
The Cursed Siren.
