HEADLINE
Just a number, a story
No names, no emotion
Black and white

An act of passion
rage
A knife
Stab; a gun
Shot
Evidence that washes away with the tide
Guilt and memories that do not

Walking up the stairs in the dark
Death is one after the last
When you are almost safe yet
Your foot goes through air
Sends a chill up your spine
Even though you know it was coming.
