Back Cover

The land of Adoran has become a living hell, a land where no one ages but all suffer for centuries rotting away imprisoned by the evil ones in cold and dark dungeon cells. And yet the prophecies speak of the one who will come and set the prisoners free. The prophecies speak of the Princess and tell how she will defeat the evil ones.

But Elissa de la Cruz has no idea she is the Princess that was prophesied ten thousand years ago or that evil has been waiting all those years to defeat her and break the prophecies once and for all.

Elissa is but a girl and knows nothing of Adoran or the evil that dwells there.

That is, until she is taken there in a dream. A dream that changes everything. A dream that opens a door to what looks like heaven. And a dream that frightens her deeply.

Elissa is about to be handed a golden key and soon she will unlock doors she's never dreamed of. With her best friend, red-headed Missy O'Sullivan at her side, Elissa follows the long prophesied path from the high deserts of Arizona, to the mesas of the Hopi Indians, to the land of Adoran lost and buried somewhere out in the desert.

Everything has changed. Nothing will ever be the same again.

The Princess has dreamed.

Prologue

(from Psalms 13)

The old man sat hunched in the corner of his cell as he had sat for ever so long. He lips scarcely moved as he uttered what he had uttered for centuries.

"How long O Lord will you forget me?"

"How long O Lord will you look the other way?"

The agony he felt tore his soul. The loneliness was more than he could bear. The shame he felt...

"How long O Lord must I wrestle with my thoughts?"

"How long must I have such sorrow in my heart?"

"Look on me and answer O God my Father!"

"Restore my strength O Lord don't let me die!"

"Bring light to my darkness!"

But his spirit would not give up. For he had learned something few ever learn.

"But I trust in Your unfailing love!"

"Yes, my heart will rejoice!"

"Still I sing of Your unfailing love!"

"You have been good, You will be good... to me!"

And in the darkness of his cell... in the loneliness of his isolation... in the agony of his shame... he was once again comforted. And a voice was heard echoing down the empty corridors as it sang a new song.
