Remember when you put a shell to your ear,

And you could hear the ocean?

I can remember I heard seagulls too,

And a mermaid singing harmony.

One day I told my Grandad,

But he said I was making it up.

I can't hear the sounds of the sea anymore.
On December 25th I always heard bells,

I knew then Santa was on his way.

Early to bed incase he saw me,

But I was never really asleep.

With my eyes closed and my ears open I waited,

I heard sounds of foot steps and a Reindeer,

A year later there was nothng.
The Angels used to sing to me,

Voices from Heaven,

A distant world.

Calming voices telling me things were alright,

Not to worry,

To be myself.

I remember the day I couldn't hear them.
Childhood memories,

So distant now.

But they're so strong when I rememebr.

Every time I see a shell,

Every Christmas Eve,

When I see an Angel,

I remember the sounds.
