You promised,

“Best Friends Forever”,

Remember?

Or did you forget?

Like you so often do,

We use to be friends,

Use to be cool,

Now you’re someone,

Someone different,

And you don’t even know who,

What happened to YOU?

The YOU I knew,

I see you in the mall,

In the hall,

With your friends,

Hanging out,

Being cool,

Acting like you’re one of them,

You tell yourself they care,

That they understand you,

But deep down you’re waiting,

You’re hurting,

You’re crying,

Running from you,

So that’s it,

Our friendship doesn’t matter anymore?

You and I,

We were two of a kind,

Friends,

Best friends,

But you threw that away,

Why?

I don’t even think you know.
