The first time I met you,

I didn't think such,

You were just a face in the crowd then,

Definitely nothing much.

But as I got to know you,

My opinions started to change,

And now they're different,

As different as the human race.

You are more than just an acquaintance,

Aye, much more like a friend,

One who I may depend on,

To help me through the hours.

So I'd just like to thank you,

For all you have done,

And although I know you'll be leaving soon,

So even when we're grown,

And have families of our own,
