We ran across the sea of green grass that was my back yard. My brothers and I headed toward the haven that was a prickly Holly tree, which was taller than my house. We entered the hollowed out side of the tree into the nook that was some 10ft across and 6ft up, and was devoid of branches.
When one brother, the older one, ran out he became the enemy. The younger brother and I climbed up high into the prickly treetop that was our favorite play area. We climbed into the look out where we spotted the enemy.
We attacked with a barrage of water balloon bombs, and plastic squirt guns, shooting at my enemy brother making noises for effect.
"Attack the traitor, Ahhhhh." I'd yell, my little brother shouting;
"Bang, Boom, Bam." Every time a water balloon hit the ground.
The enemy brother would yell " Ha ha ha you missed." As he dodged most of the attack unscathed, but my little brother and I noted the few wet blotches that were vivid on the enemy's clothes.
The enemy brother then ran around to the back of the tree to attack us from below, shooting foam darts at us. My younger brother and I scrambled down about half of the tree where there was a small opening in the foliage where we could slide down the branches. We made noises of pain as we slid sown the prickly leafed branches of the Holly tree. Once free we ran to escape the enemy, who was close behind in pursuit, still shooting foam darts of death.
Finally we reached the invisible shield that we ran up to, opened and closed it before the enemy reached it. We locked it securely as he banged on the shield to gain entrance to our main fortress that was our house. But despite his efforts the sliding glass door remained intact.
It may seem that we had won, but alas we had abandoned our post at the tree fort. All was lost as the enemy went back to ravage our reserve supplies. But we may have lost today, but there was always tomorrow.
The End
Hi's and salutations everyone. This story is yet another English assignment. The story it a mix between how me and my brothers used to play when we were little and a wee little bit of fantasy or maybe not, me and my brothers always did have big imaginations. Well please review and I hope you enjoyed this little story.
