The Reason of life

Chapter 1

Slowly, a young boy approached the palace. Chanderah, the Elemental Mage of the west, carefully opened the door.

What if this is just another dead end? What if the Ice Goddess isn’t here?

Shirona was the only one who could tell him where the Devil’s Lair was…and his father.

"This has to be the right place!" he said, starring at the Ice Palace.

Chanderah shivered, rapping his cloak still more tightly, as an arctic wind tossed his blond hair about.

"Father I will find you."

Then he entered the frigid castle, cringing as his flesh touched the frozen door. He walked down the main hall, into the legendary room only to find…a girl. Her long black hair went down past her waist and ended a few inches above her knees. The girl abruptly turned to face Chanderah.

"Who are you?" she demanded, pale blue eyes glinting.

"Shut your trap, Blue Eyes." Chanderah snapped coldly.

He then proceeded to search the room for any sign of a Holy Mark. Upon finding it he quickly began to chant the spell, but quickly stopped.

"Hey Blue Eyes, tell me your name." he ordered.

"Why?" the girl asked spectacle.

"What kind of stupid question is that?" he demanded.

"I guess you’re right." she replied blushing. "I’m Aura."

"That’s a weird name. Whatever." he said shrugging the matter off. "I summon Shirona, goddess of ice, arise and fulfill my bidding."

Shirona appeared and smiled kindly.

"You have traveled far my friend, and your journey is not yet at an end." she said. Her lilting voice was calm and quiet.

"But how did you…"

"I know all. I sense that you seek a loved one long sense gone astray."

"Wow. You’re good. Shirona, show me the way to rescue my father. I have no gift for you except…myself."

"Noble and just. Honor as well. You’re lucky that I find those to be very valuable virtues in a person. I shall spare your soul and I shall help you. Follow my trail. It shall lead you to him." Shirona said shooting a trail of ice from her fingers.

"Thank you." Chanderah whispered before leaving.

"Who was that?" Aura asked as soon as Chanderah was safely out of hearing distance.

Shirona glanced at her before answering.

"That, little girl, is Honored Chanderah, Elemental Mage of the western world."

"I-I just met an Elemental Mage without even realizing it? And one of the Honored Four too. I really gotta fine tune my magic sensing ability.
