Hanging down from yonder pine

And bleeding out its beauty

A child's heart beats one last time

And the book closes.

Eternity.

Sitting under yonder tree

Sharing songs of beauty

It was here you promised me

The tale would not end.

Eternity.

Dancing through this hellish dream

Chasing pages as they fade

I can't take back what has been

The story is done.

Eternity.

Wishing in my little well

That I could read again.

Without my book, life is hell!

But the tale is lost.

Eternity.

Crying for its gentle song

I grasp out, desperately.

But it's too late, it's too for gone.

The book is closed forever.

Eternity.

Hanging down from yonder pine

And bleeding out its beauty

A child's heart, it is mine,

Stops.

Eternity.
