Oh,
How miserable life is.
It's hard to face the sunshine in the morning
When I know I have nothing to offer the day.
What is there to live for?
But to wallow in my misery alone,
And to watch my simple life crumble
As my loved ones slowly disappear.
My brave brother, Laertes
Does not know of the grief and anguish
That his home now holds.
Nor does he know of his father's death.
Like an obedient daughter who values
The guidance of her guardian,
I long for the watchful eye of my father.
He is now not only gone,
But was taken to God
By an angel who is the man I love.
Dear Hamlet,
To watch his descent into madness
Bears more pain than it would to witness his death.
I cry for the sweet, sensitive Hamlet,
Who every day fades,
As I begin my own decline
Into the never-ending downward spiral
Of madness.
