Heaven and Hell

Korill stood in Heaven and watched the light bathe the clouds in its unparalleled beauty, a sight that Brace had longed to see once more.

Stemasta, her friend said to her “He made the ultimate sacrifice, the ultimate act of good.  Brace sacrificed himself so that his charge would be safe.  So that you would be safe from the demon.  We will honour him always.”  Putting an arm and a wing around his friend Stemasta pulled Korill to him.

Korill rested her head on his shoulder but said nothing.  Standing together the two angels made for an abstract sight; Korill with her long silver hair hanging over her white wings, dressed in the purest whites and Stemasta still in his mortal form; he was a young man seeming to be about the same age as Korill looked, clean shaven with shoulder length dark hair and dressed all in black, mostly covered by his long black leather coat, his white wings hidden beneath the garment.

It had been a while now since Brace had left and during that time she had guided Rhona away from her dark side.  With Michelle about this was easier than she had at first thought it would have been and now Rhona was adopting a new nickname in her profession as the ‘kindest model in the world’.  No more hearts had she broken nor would she break, instead giving all her love to the new puppy she had bought and named Hero Junior, in honour of her original saviour.

After his demise Dahvid had been sent to answer for his evil ways, down into the place where his anger would be most at home.  Dahvid wandered through the darkness of Hell, lost and alone he suffered.  His mind still engulfed him in memories and fantasies of the woman he had come so close to having, but would now never again see.

This was truly Hell for Dahvid, trapped for the rest of eternity suffering to be without the one soul he cared for.  In his warped and deranged existence, she had been the only one to ever bring him happiness and now she was the one that created his grief.

Brace looked back at the demon chained by unbreakable bonds to the walls of his little corner o Hell.  The fallen angel had trapped the demon he’d dragged back from Earth and now left him to rot, chained here at the edge of Hell with no way of escaping.  Grimly smiling to himself, Brace took comfort in the fact that the War between Heaven and Hell had been averted and would not begin again due to this particular demon.  However, due to his anger, Brace knew that he could never return to Heaven.  The Kingdom of Paradise was not meant to be polluted by such a dark emotion and so the fallen angel pondered what there was for him to do now.

Turning, Brace looked out into the abyss and thought once more of the fate that vanquished demons were said to suffer.  Stepping slowly forward Brace stood on the very edge of the abyss and looked out into the silent darkness that stretched away into nothingness.  The dirt at his feet crumbled into the abyss and a smile curled Brace’s lips.
