Angel Love
Prologue
If you believe in magic, if you believe in angels, if you believe in the most foul evil and the purest good, if you believe in the power of true love, then believe in this story, set in a time long ago, when dreams and reality could not easily be told apart…
It is a time of misery. The land is ruled by a cruel and vicious man known only as the Tyrant. From his castle, far to the South, he governs over his unwilling subjects, who are no more truly free than slaves. It is now at this time that the Tyrant knows no resistance. All forms of rebellion have been purged from his land, with only a few remnants remaining. Dozens of groups of men scour the land searching for the last of the Warriors. The Warriors; almost supernatural fighters with magical weapons that have almost always fought for good. The Tyrant’s cunning and the overwhelming numbers of his forces have wiped out almost every last Warrior in this mad man’s quest for total and complete power in the land. The former ruler, King Jahane was a kind and merciful man. He had no army as the Warriors would protect his realm. His wife had died many years ago of an illness, but this had not made Jahane bitter. The few Guardians that surrounded his daughter and himself were no match for the Tyrant’s force. Only one of the Guardians survived the onslaught. Jahane was murdered and his daughter kidnapped. It was while trying to rescue her that most of the Warriors fell into the evil Tyrant’s trap. A magical portal was opened by the Tyrant’s twisted warlock, Zaheba. The portal appeared over the Warriors and all but three of the Warriors were pulled into a vortex and became trapped in an alternate dimension occupied by demons. The remaining Warriors separated and travelled to different parts of the realm, or so it was told, so as to make it harder for them to be killed. The Princess, Tora was given by the Tyrant as a gift to Zaheba and forced to remain with the warlock. Rage, one of the remaining Warriors and Tora’s true love, tried to free her, but he could not succeed and was driven back from the warlock’s fortress again and again, unable to pass the magical barrier protecting the fortress, vowing that one day he would free the other Warriors and rescue his love.
The last Guardian remained in the old capital city of the land, Ruul. There, posing no threat to the Tyrant, he was permitted to live with the knowledge that he had failed to save either one of his charges.
The Tyrant new that the only way he would lose his reign of the land was when time took it from him. So the Tyrant hatched an evil scheme to cheat even time…
