You tell me not to try

Because I might get lost

You ask me not to fly

Because I could fall.

You tie me down

With ropes of silk

And leave me nothing at all.

You refuse

To left me be

And when I cry

You say you do it for me.

Ropes of silk

Are smooth and sweet

But they won't let

Our eyes meet.

Let me be, let me be

Where I can fly

Swift and free

And ropes of silk can't bind me.
