He had come there to the Mossmotn Forest, and to Candlewind, its main port and trade city, at the summons of a dear friend of his. The two of them had grown up together since their fathers were both ruling Lords and kept in constant contact. Yes, he thought, it has been to long since I last seen her.
"Where is she?" Tem-Don mused as he past walked past another tree, it long leafy branches only hanging inches from the ground. He had been waiting for over a measure now. The quiet of the forest was peaceful as he sat on the fallen tree. The sun beamed through the breeze blown branches and landed on his cheek.
"Warm." He sighed as he brought up his hand to touch his cheek. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a movement. It was Adalein Rosewood. She walked virtually silent as if she was floating above the forest floor.
She was beautiful. With eyes the color of the ocean, and hair as gold as the sun, yes; she was indeed beautiful. To anyone one that seen her, she seemed a wisp of a thing, slender and fragile. But looks can be deceiving. She was extremely skilled in the ways of combat; her favorite weapon was a long slender sword that she always kept attached to her belt. She was also skilled in the ways of magic; Adalein could use simple spells to distract an opponent during battle.
This day she did not wear her typical attire, except for the sword attached to a small leather belt on her hip, instead she wore a long skirt that came down to a point below the navel and had a slit that came up to mid-thigh. Her top also came to a point under the chest line. It was sleeveless except for the translucent shoulder straps. Following her was her companion; a young fox; but with three beautiful flowing tails.
"Greetings Tem-Don." She said while giving a slight bow. "Sorry to keep you waiting, but there was company." She said while sweeping her arms out as if to show her out fit.
"Greetings Adalein." He spoke in a low voice as he rose and faced her. She looked so pretty in that dress. My, he thought, she had grown so fast in the past fifteen years. It seemed not so long ago both age four played in the mud. "So why did you have me meet you here? You have been secretive lately." Aedammair came over to Tem-Don tails erect and waving gently side-to-side. "Hello Aedammair , Have you been behaving yourself?" Tem-Don reached down and rubbed the animal's head along the white diamond shaped spot that ran from the top of his head to the tip of his nose.
"I have brought you here, to show you what I found." She said, brushing some of her breeze blown hair to the side. "Or I should say Aedammair found." At the mention of her name Aedammair returned to his mistress's side.
"I was on a diplomatic trip to Everwood to discuss trade with our city. I was staying within the city and had Aedammair with me," She patted the foxes head "We were taking a walk along the city's outskirts when Aedammair here just suddenly ran off. It is not like her to just run off without a reason so I chased after her and into the Fasaton Forest."
"The Fasaton Forest!"
"Yes." She nodded and smirked.
"The Fasaton Forest is a dangerous place, it is not safe for any of our kind... even the highly skilled." Tem-don said is shock.
"Yes, but this is something that I believe will help our kind defeat the evil that is taking over the forest and our home."
"What could possibly be strong..." He paused in thought "...wait you mean to tell me you think you have found..." before he could finish Adalein cut him off.
"The orb of Niwatian. Yes, I believe I have."
"But how?"
"As I said Aedammair ran away from me. I chased after her all the way to the Fasaton Forest, where I found her sitting on what seemed to be an old monument. Remembering the old tales of the battle between our kind and the Sinara long ago, also I remembered the part of the tale telling of the Battle at Halloteloan and how it was won using the orb of Niwatian. But near the end of the battle the orb was lost in a lone monument."
"Have you told anyone else about your find?" Tem-Don asked still in shock at hearing her news.
"No." She shook her head sadly. "I have not, even if I did no one would believe such a tale. My father does not think that there is a threat. But I feel it, I can feel the coming evil." She looked to him sadly. "You are the only one who believes me. I have told my father of my feelings, I even went to the city Elders, but all they say is that I am over reacting and that nothing will happen. The Sinara are coming, they want their revenge. They want revenge on us for driving them away from this land." She trailed off.
