The Truth- Who am I?

Again I am not really sure where this came from, but I guess it is a truth I know from somewhere. Please read and review.

Who am I?

I thought only crazies asked that,

Or if you lost all memories,

I thought I knew who I was,

But now I’m not so sure,

Did I ever really know?

Everybody thought they knew me too.

You could ask them,

They would tell you,

But did they ever think it could be a mask,

A safety precaution,

No how could they have known,

I didn’t even realize the lie was there.

All my truths gone,

What do I believe in?

Where do I get my support?

My strength?

Who am I?

I thought I knew,

I never had these questions I have now,

My path was clear,

I was certain,

Positive,

But like they say,

‘Only fools are positive.’

Why are lies so easy to accept?

And the truth so hard to trust?

Where am I headed?

What’s in store?

How much more pain will I bear?

How much more ignorance?

Who am I?

You thought you knew,

I was the one who was perfect, right?

Did you ever think to look deeper?

Below the surface?

The farce?

No, you knew you wouldn’t like what you would see.

You lied too.

Then how come I’m the one at fault?

I have to go find myself,

I can ask you to wait for me,

But it’s your choice to wait,

But I have to know.

I have to go, or I will die.

I have to find my truth,

It’s my life to lead,

If I come back we were meant to be,

But if not go on without me.

I can’t promise anything,

I just have to find what lies beneath the mask.

Who am I?

Do you know who you are?

Tell me, do you?

Think hard, do you really,

The answer may not be to your liking,

But it is there,

Find it.
