What is Love?,

What is love, this pain we all feel?
This emotion that drives us to act out of character?
Is it a torture sent from God to be our Achilles' heel?
Or is it just a disease meant to tear up our interior?

I hate this love that's talked about,
So freely it's used that it now means nothing,
Yet supposedly by everyone, it is felt,
But if so, then why doesn't it make me feel like a king?

This love bullshit confuses me so,
That I hate talking about it, even to those close to me,
Even so much that thinking of it makes me feel low,
And when it happens, everyone just leaves me be.

To have feelings of love for another,
I don't know if I can do,
Except for my father and mother,
And all else close to me, then to the rest, I'll be shrew.

If love is really something to be felt by all,
Then why is it that I have a feeling not?
And when people do have feelings and fall,
How come my heart, being so close to theirs, isn't in a knot?

Now all I have to say of this love,
Is that when I feel it,
There better be a white dove,
Or else I'll never again believe in this shit.
