Silver Sun 2: A Blackened Soul
By GameGuy24
The ship rocked against the harbor as the waves pounded it. It was a dark night with the full moon hovering ominously above. The fog covered the passengers' eyes as they waited for their departure. They were all silent, (mourning their leave) gazing up at the stars high above them, thinking of their failures, feeling deep desperation. Their homes were gone, either burned or desecrated. Little children had been forced to leave the land their families had lived on for hundreds of years; leaving everything behind except the things they could carry. The children turned their gaze to the high castle off in the distance covered by the fog. They had lost a war against their enemies, a war like all wars, over differences.
A woman came crashing through the door to the court room. Eleves (Eleves of the east are known to spell and pronounce elves as "eleves".) stood high above her, staring at her as though she was mad with disease, looking at each other awkwardly.
"Guards, get her out of here this instant!" An elf commanded.
"No kind sir, please let me speak!!!" The women cried out. She pushed away the guards with her free hand while tears were streaming down her eyes. The highest of all the eleves looked upon the women peculiarly.
"Guards, let her be. Speak madam." the elf proclaimed. The guards backed away.
An elf nearby looked up at the other elf and said quietly "Sir we do not have time to listen to this foolish female human." The elf said in disgust.
"Now Charles, just let the female speak." The King said. "Please madam, hold your tears for speech.” The women sniffed and look up at the elf lord on her knees.
The woman’s eyes were filled with desperation; she was forcing herself not to cry. "My son, my lord, is very small and weak." Tears began to form around her eyes again and she had to look down. "He can't make the trip across the big water. He will surely die, our doctor told me this so. I beg of you, please take my son!!" She pulled her head back up and looked directly into the elf lords eyes. "He is my only loved one left, my husband was killed in the war." She put her head down again. "I can't let him die. Take him as your own! Tell him nothing of me; if you have any kindness towards whether I am human or elf sir don't do this for me but for my son!" She looked up again and stared around the council.
The eleves were in total shock and much murmuring came. Some yelled down at the woman pointing and throwing things. She fell to her knees and wept as they called her the absolutely filthiest things. No one could believe this woman wanted them to take a human child and raise it like an elf! It was just unheard of. The Elf Lord called for silence and looked abruptly upon the woman.
"You realize madam why your kind is being made to leave this land? You have lost the war because you are selfish, ignorant, filthy creatures." A small cheer of agreement was heard from the council. "We elves can not tolerate you, and we love all creatures. You no not of how to help this world but only to destroy it! Why would we want to have one of you among us?" The council clapped at this remark. Tears again filled in the woman's eyes and she began to cry loudly.
"Please sir, he can not make this voyage! I know it! Our hearts are connected and I know when he is in danger! Give pity for a loving mother!"
The elf lord looked upon the women curiously. Staring upon her and hearing the way she spoke remind him of someone. He looked at his council who gave him a look of disbelief then he turned back to the women.
"Settle down madam and listen. Like your husband, my wife was lost at war. Although I despise you humans, I give pity onto you. I have the responsibility of the care of my child without my wife. A child needs both a nurturer and discipliner. Without on or the other, they will be weak.” He stopped for a second. “With that in my mind, I will take your son and raise him as an elf, with elf dignity. Bring him here." The crowd whispered in absolute shock and the women smiled and stood up. She bowed at him respectively and ran out of the room for her son.
"Sir this is against our principles!" an advisor said. "Humans are vile creatures! All they care about in money and power. They have no respect for the land or each other. The risk of the child’s wicked ways spreading among our masses is far to great! Far to great for you to accept him!" Other advisors stood up and clapped at this.
"Gentlemen, Gentleman show some compassion and sensitivity. This women has no where else to turn to. She would have to love her son very much if she would be willing to give him up to us, for the sack of his life, even if it meant never seeing him again. We were created on this earth to take care of the land and to love all of the creatures on it. No matter what the humans do, we must care for them." The King proclaimed.
"But sire, he's not eleven, what if the Sinok Eleves find out about him? Humans have been banished from this land; that was the agreement among all elf kingdoms!" The advisor told the king.
"Then we will make him an elf." The King proclaimed leaving the advisor bewildered. Right then the women entered the room bearing a child in her arms. The King beckoned the women to hand him the child. She walked up the stairs (too much disgust of the other advisors) and turned the young child over to the King's hands. The child looked up at the King in confusion; feeling tired, the child's eyes closed and it rested its head upon the King’s chest. With a confused but happy face the King gave out a laugh.
"This child will be known as The Eleven Prince." The King proclaimed.
