The trees bask,
In the eternal glory of the sun,
Bathed in crimson rays,
Arms outstretched,
Welcoming a new day.
Light creeps into every corner,
Spreading the sun's gift of life,
As the shadows,
The creatures of the night run for cover,
The birds spread their magnificent wings,
Taking flight,
Up into the velvet red sky.
The animals leave their den,
To try their luck again,
Fate has dealt them a new hand,
Whether they will even hear,
The echoes of tomorrow,
Or leave for the Green Fields of Beyond,
Before the sun stops playing his song of life,
Remains to be seen.
'A new day has come!'
They cry,
'May today bear more fruit,
Than our efforts of yesterday,'
Joyously, they turn to face the rising sun,
A new day has begun.
