Bipedalism

Following the instructions of your deity can be hard when you're stuck in the wrong shape. ^_^

I realise I'm lost

Only when the limping draws me, stumbling,

To a halt.

The twilight draws me, humbly

To my knees

The sand is warm beneath the midnight's frost.

Boundaries break like ice

I look up, weary, to the moon and say

"I'm lost, Mother. Lost.

I'm far from home and do not know the way."

Her voice returns

A lilting purr-whisper from the palest light

"Get up, little cat. Walk. You have to carry on

Continue in your life. Get up and fight."

I want to tell her - only I have no voice

How hard it can really be -

The darkness chokes my final groping words:

How hard it is to walk on two legs

When you're better off limping on three.
