Foolish Intentions

Mind blank as a slate
Weighed down by worry
Terrified of tasks ahead
Seething hatred toward you
How inhumane and cruel
To torture me this way.
Have you no compassion?
Do you not see how I hold
Back these fragile tears?
Free me from this torture
Spare me the pain, please
Try to see what you've
Made of me, with your
New, innovative methods
See how well they work?
You've taught me to fear
And likewise I've learned to
Cry, experienced the breath
Shaking in my petrified
Lungs. Isn't that just
What you intended to do?
