Scattered*

He smiles toward the sky

And she asks him why

He says he'll never really ever know the reason

So, they wonder to themselves

What they are going to do with themselves

As they sit there watching the changing season

The light grows dim, as the sun goes down

Yet, still they sit watching the world go 'round,

As they tell each other of their life-long story

They can see the stars scattered across the sky

They can faintly hear the wind gently blow on by

As they tell each other their tales of woe and glory

He once was a boy trapped in the heart of many minds

Yearning for freedom to escape from the hard times

All he ever wanted was to find a way to make it through

She once was a girl swallowed by heartache and pain

Never wanting to feel that same way ever again

She just wanted to find a sign leading her to the truth

So, here they sat beneath the light of the moon

Wondering how they ever made it this far without meeting up with doom

The two of them, just staring blankly into the night

They felt so comforted by one another's voice

Knowing that life had given them this choice

Everything just felt so right

They found each other as the sky began to fall

Helping each other take down the wall

Both crumbling the disastrous pieces of the past

Knowing how life is like a story book with chapters

They knew they'd get through these horrid disasters

They had found the greatness of life at last

Each day had brought on a new fear

Yet, a new hope was put in charge to steer

They knew that they had finally found their happiness

Moments like these, enwrapped by the blanket of night

Once seeking just a bit of hope, and finding a stream of light

They were happy to be a part of all of this

She smiles toward the sky

And he asks her why

She says she'll never really ever understand

So, they wonder to themselves

What they are going to do with themselves

As they take a hold of one another's hand
